Rumor Rocsi And Terrence Better Start Faxing Off Some Resumes, BET Cancels Rap City?

This economy is ruining everything! First MTV announced that they were canceling its long-running pop culture show, TRL. And now I just got word that that BET is calling it quits on a hip-hop staple.

My source tells me that the BET's Rap City is done. I hear the change will take place on October 26th.

After a year of hearing whispers that the Viacom owned cable channel was thinking of canceling the sh*tty rap program, it looks like its finally happening.

Though the news isn't surprising to me, it's still sad to see one of television's longest running hip-hop shows go out like this.

Where would Hip-Hop be if not for shows like Rap City?

I mean, Big Tigger was corny as all hell, but he definitely made Rap City watchable. However, once Tigger left the show no other host could make it work.

J-Nicks, Mad Linx and Q45 tried their best, but have all failed miserably.

With MTV's TRL leaving the airwaves, and now Rap City receiving it's curtain call, you know it's only a matter of time before Rocsi and Terrence get their walking papers.

Let's all hope that BET performs a proper send off. There were so many great moments to relive.

Man, they deen trig to do this for a little minute. I think it use to come on a 3 pm when tigger was on. Then they moved it to 5 with was a better time. But then last year the had that shit coming on a 12 am ( an wasn't showing no un cut shit). Then the finally moved it back to 5, an like weeks ago, they put is back to 3. AN every time they changed the time, the never have a commecial telling you shit. An they don't even mention the show on any other show.

They been plottin' on this for a while.

Reall soon B.E.T> is gonna get cancled,lol

Exactly, Rap City wasn't amazing, but it was much better than any other music video channel on TV. They played some real rap mixed in with the bullshit they have to play. And they bring real artists on as well as make rappers actually freestyle. Rap City>your favorite music video channel

Rap City was dope when Tigger was there .. The Bassment was a madd chill environment, and everybody wanted to go in the booth, now on it they kinda scared to go into the booth or the shit they spit aint freestyled cause we heard it on a mixtape already. I think the downfall was it 2 hrs long, so they were able to show the SAME videos OVER and OVER everyday .. unless there was a guest....then now they cut it to 1 hr and it seems you dont get to hear or see much of the guests... i remember when Pac was on rap city

106 wont be going, its BET's TRL, its a pop video countdown in a way, its made for young kids and shit, Rap City was the shit, but once Tigga left the basement it was shit. I think they should re do Rap City, bring Tigga back, that show was dope, the booth, all that. Or get rid of both and make one new rap show and shit, maybe not a countdown show, I dont know, but now there is nothing for rap. Yo MTV Raps was the best shit, most of you'll probably too young to have watched it, but that was the first rap show.

The economy has nothing to do with ratings haha no 1 watched trl the past 3 yrs because they play bad videos and have a bad show..for the past few yrs MTV tries to push certain artists such as (tokio hotel) and no 1 really wants to see that 24/7.
