Has Jermaine Dupri Been Fired From Def Jam?
Published: Friday - August 22, 2008 When it rains, it pours... at least that seems to be the case for Jermaine Dupri. Word around town is that the record producer/songwriter/rapper has been terminated from Island Def Jam Music Group. A source, as quoted by various media sites, said, "I am being told that JD's termination papers were being drafted this afternoon (August 20)." Rumor has it that JD was let go because of his arguably unimpressive work on Janet Jackson's "Discipline." Jermaine is also said to be responsible for Mariah Carey's "E=MC2," which is reportedly having problems with a follow-up single after "Touch My Body." Jermaine has been working for Def Jam as the head of Def Jam's urban division since late in 2006. He was also the producer behind Monica's fourth studio album, "The Making Of Me" and had worked on multiple tracks on Jay-Z's "American Gangster." At press time, neither Jermaine nor Def Jam's representatives had responded to requests for comment. - By Erin T. McMillon Source: yoraps
