07/16/08 - Snoop Dogg Is Named As A Witness For Murder Trial

Snoop Dogg has reportedly been named as a witness in the murder trial of Bay Area rapper Mac Minister.
Mac Minister, born Andre Dow, is accused of killing Kansas City rapper Fat Tone and his friend Jermaine "Cowboy" Akins in Las Vegas in 2005.

Authorities claim Fat Tone and Akins were last seen leaving a Las Vegas hotel with Mac Minister and were later found shot dead at a construction site by a security guard.

Authorities claim Minister lured Fat Tone and Akins to the hotel claiming he would introduce them to Snoop Dogg.

Mac Minister and Snoop Dogg have collaborated on various records and have attended award shows together.

Authorities believe Mac Minister killed Fat Tone in retaliation for the murder of Bay Area rapper Mac Dre.

Mac Dre was shot and killed in a 2004 drive by shooting in Kansas City and Fat Tone was considered a person of interest in the murder but never a suspect.

According to The Las Vegas Review Journal, Mac Minister's trial begun Tuesday (July 15) and Snoop Dogg is one of about 20 witnesses defense attorneys could call to testify in the trial.

Erick Ferran, one of Mac Minister's attorneys, said they haven't served Snoop with a subpoena to appear in court but he plans to "if the need rises."

Snoop Dogg's publicist refused to comment when reached
