A man convicted in a drug case with ties to Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff lunged at a federal prosecutor with a razor in court yesterday (Mar 11).

Victor Wright, who was facing a mandatory life sentence, snuck a razor into the Federal District Court in Brooklyn on Tuesday. He stood without cuffs before the judge awaiting sentencing while the assistant United States attorney, Carolyn Pokorny, who had successfully gotten him convicted on drug charges in '06, stood a few feet away.

Suddenly, Wright attacked Pokorny right there in the court room.

"He looked at the judge and he looked at Carolyn with total rage in his face and just lunged at her with a razor shiv he must have secreted somewhere from his body," court reporter Ronald Tolkin told The New York Times. Tolkin jumped on Wright as he choked Pokorny but failed to cut her.

Wright's own lawyer Harry Batchelder also jumped into the frey.

"As soon as Victor brushed past me and I heard Carolyn scream, I wasn't going to worry about the attorney-client privilege," he said. "I joined the party."

Both Pokorny and Batchelder received medical attention for minor injuries, according to a spokesman for the United States attorney's office.

Wright was convicted in '06 on federal drug charges as part of a case involving Kenneth "Supreme" McGriff and has apparently held a grudge against Pokorny since then.

McGriff is serving a life sentence behind bars because of racketeering charges, narcotics trafficking and conspiring to murder aspiring Queens rapper E-Money Bags and a former associate Troy Singleton.

"[Wright] thinks she framed him, and you could see he really hated her," Tolkin said.

Wright had previously told his lawyer as much.

"When I spoke to him beforehand, he asked me, 'Do you think Ms. Pokorny has any remorse?' " Batchelder said of Wright. "I said, 'Remorse? She's just doing her job.'"

Wright's sentencing was delayed and he will probably face more charges. He was being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center.
