11/26/07 - Beanie Sigel Questions T.I's Gangsta

In this week's Pulse Report, the streets are buzzing about Beanie Sigel's response to T.I.'s arrest, Saigon "quitting" rap and Kanye West breaking his silence.

1. Saigon Calls It Quits. SOHH must be on top for a reason, because almost every other outlet reported that Saigon threatened to punch Melyssa Ford rather SOHH's own Janee Bolden. Step your game up! In any event, by now most of you caught wind of Sai's decision to call it quits once the reports spread net-wide. You're quitting? Come on, what are you going to do now, box?

Dude, with all the doo doo you've been through, you gon' let that story get the best of you? I, for one, hope Sai comes to his senses and picks the mic back up (or doesn't put it down). He ain't the messiah or nothing, but I need to hear them 11 beats Just Blaze cooked up for the LP. Plus with Hov deteriorating and Nas stubbornly using primitive beats, Sai seems like the only dude capable of dropping that New York ish.

2. Kanye Speaks. The man is indeed "Stronger." Only one day after breaking down in tears during a performance in Paris, France, Kanye addressed his mother's passing at a concert in Brussels, Belgium.

"About 50 people, a hundred people that I ain't never talked to in the past three years call me out the blue, talking about, 'I just wanna tell you that I'm giving you support and stuff,'" Ye told the crowd. "And I appreciate the support and all that, but don't suggest what I'm supposed to do. 'What you need to do, you just need to stop touring, you need to go home and clear your head.' Go home to what, motherfu**er."

"And there's nothing that she loved more than to come to the shows and scream louder than any fan, because she was my first fan that was screaming before anybody else, and my first manager," he added. "If she was here, she would tell me to 'get on that stage and kill it.'"

No cheap shots from 50 Cent. He also agrees that Yeezy needs to stay on the road and keep himself busy.

"That's really an unfortunate situation and I hope he can work his way through it," 50 told The Associated Press. "It's good to see him actually touring: You can work your way back into a comfortable space where you can deal with those situations."

3. Robert Downey Jr. Cool With Ghost? It turns out that Downey Jr. could have sniffed a coke line or three to Wu-Tang Clan back in the day. Word is the Academy Award nominee knew all about Ghostface when the Wally champ came to Ironman's set to film his cameo.

"It was a good look for the kid because Robert Downey Jr. recognized me as soon as I seen him," Ghost told MTV. "He was like, 'Yo, Tony!' For him to recognize me, I was kinda surprised by that. I didn't know he even knew about the kid. We called each other Tony onscreen. I'm like, 'Tony Stark, I got your jet, I didn't mess it up.' He was like, 'I got the Bentley for you, I laced it up.' I had two girls with me, I was like, 'That's you [pointing toward the girls].' I sent two birds at him. It was a wrap for that scene. "

Nice! Now let's hope they don't butcher that joint like they did Spider-Man 3.

4. Beans Sounds Off On T.I. When reports spread that Tip got caught trying to purchase machine guns and silencers, most people thought, "who the hell are you trying to shoot?" Obviously, artists took the politically correct route, saying they didn't know the case's details and encouraged T.I. to keep his head up. Well, leave it to Beanie Sigel to keep it funky. On his Hip-hop Vs. America blog entry via BET.com, Beans questioned T.I.'s judgement and tough guy credibility.

"That T.I. situation, things like that make it hard," Beans wrote in the entry."But T.I. was trippin.' C'mon boss, who you going to war with? If you didn't try it then, why would you try it now?"
Ouch!

On another note, Jay-Z's artists, including Sigs, have increasingly been working with R. Kelly, who sued Jiggaman after being kicked off the "Best of Both Worlds" tour a while back. Young Jeezy set it off with "Go Getta," Sigel followed with "All The Above" and the lead single off Rick Ross' Trilla also features Kells. Beans recently revealed that Hov doesn't mind.

"It was business, and you got to separate business from the personal things," Beans told MTV. "And Jay-Z at this point in his career, he's a businessman, so he understood the vision once I explained it to him, and he was all for it. No problem at all. "
