10/23/07 - The Powerhouse Concert....Was 50 wrong?

By now everybody has heard of or seen the footage of the Powerhouse concert that was in Philadelphia Friday night.
Many radio stations around the world are talking about this situation between Kanye West and 50 Cent and wondering why it took place. On the Wendy Williams show yesterday, Wendy said that she didn’t think that it was cool what 50 did, but it was funny. It was also the topic of discussion this morning on Power 99’s sister station Power 106 fm in Los Angeles. Big Boy and his sidekick Luscious Liz stated that although they liked 50 Cent, they wondered why he would do that and felt bad that Kanye had to follow his onstage antics. We all know that 50 don’t do things just to do them, and he always has his own reasons why. Do you remember when 50 said that “People do things to me behind the scenes or don’t pay attention, but when I retaliate, people wonder why and accuse me of starting problems” I’m going to tell you what has gotten 50 irritated! Although you may feel that this is nothing, I’m sure this is why he’s striking back at Kanye. On now several occasions Kanye has teased 50 during his live performances, the most noted was the BET Hip-Hop Awards. During the performance “The Good Life” Kanye said “50 told me, 50 told me, 50 told me aaahahahahah” very sarcastically, like he was laughing at beating 50 in sales. I also heard this during two different live radio performances. You would have to be an idiot to think that 50 would let that pass. In Philly I think 50 was thinking, If I’m going to have to perform before him, I’m going to taunt him first, before he gets up here and does that to me again.

Has anyone else noticed what Kanye has been doing on stage?

Yeah no one should care really, but it has been discussed on the radio. I have heard several different DJ's talking about it and even taking phone calls on the subject. The crowd actually screamed for both of them and it didn't seem to be a bid deal when it was going on. On the radio that night everybody said that the show was great, but for some reason, now they're scratching their heads.
