10/18/07 - T.I.'s History Of Arrests..

November 1997 – T.I. arrested and later convicted for distribution of cocaine, manufacturing and distributing a controlled substance and giving authorities a false name (Cobb County, Georgia). The length of his sentence is unknown, but he was later released early on probation.

September 2003 – T.I. is involved in an altercation with security officers at University Mall in Tampa, Fla. He is accused of assaulting a female sheriff deputy.

March 30, 2004 – T.I. jailed in Cobb County for violating probation stemming from the Nov. 1997 arrest. Around the same time, two warrants are issued for his arrest in Fulton County, Ga. for possession of a firearm and possession of ecstasy. He is then sentenced to three years behind bars for violating the terms of his probation.

June 17, 2004 – While behind bars in Fulton County, an inmate escapes during a video shoot for T.I. Officials later insist that the video shoot was unauthorized. During the filming, T.I. reportedly used a cell phone as a prop and had inmates and prison guards serve as extras in the video.

March 2005 – T.I. is sentenced to perform 225 hours of community service after entering a guilty plea to battery of an officer and probation violation in the Sept. 2003 incident in Florida. Several months later, he is arrested in Georgia for driving on a suspended license. He is sentenced to an additional 150 hours of community service.

2005 – T.I. is accused of threatening a man outside of an Atlanta strip club.

May 4, 2006 – T.I.’s childhood friend and assistant, Philant Johnson, is shot and killed following an altercation outside a nightclub in Cincinnati, Ohio. The altercation is believed to have started when a member of T.I.’s entourage threw money into the crowd, angering several male audience members. While attempting to flee the tense situation, someone fired at the vehicle that T.I. was riding in, killing Johnson in the process.

May 10, 2006 – Less than a week later, T.I. appears in an Atlanta court room, where the charges are dropped due to lack of evidence from the strip club incident. However, he is later arrested on an outstanding probation violation in Florida. The warrant claims that he did not complete the required number of hours he was sentenced to in the Tampa mall incident. He is released on bail shortly after the arrest.

October 13, 2007 – T.I. is arrested at 2:30 p.m. in a Walgreen’s parking lot just hours before the BET Hip-Hop Awards were to tape in Atlanta. He was charged with two felonies—possession of three unregistered machine guns and two silencers and possession of firearms by a convicted felon.

October 15, 2007 - He is denied bond by an Atlanta judge.
