UMG pulled off a mega-coup at retail this week, selling a combined 1.6 million-plus units of Kanye West and 50 Cent albums for the highest #1-2 debut combo in history, while also becoming the first music group ever to rack up a weekly marketshare north of 50%. Whoa. The previous record, also set by Doug Morris’ legions, was 43.5% in the first week of March 2005, when Fitty’s previous album, The Massacre, moved 1.15 million units in five days. The company said it also notched a weekly digital marketshare of 49.7% behind the 132k Kanye albums that flew out of the iTunes Music Store.

curtis is a good album but kanyes is different then the gansta rap these days, kaynes puttin his emotions into his songs which create other ppl to think about there emotions that kinda set to the songs... thats what everyone wants to hear now a days, it used to be all about hard gangsta rap and theres nothin wrong with it its dope as hell but look at tupac, he was smart and did both, serious songs, gangsta ass songs, sad upsetting songs, etc. Kaynes climbin the wall of hip hop and hes markin his name with FIYYAAA!

but the Main Point here is that certain people can connect wit 50's music more cuz he raps bout what hes been through and he juss keeps it real. Hes gonna tell u how he feels bout somethin whether u like it or not and hes a leader.
