09/06/07 - Should 50 Cent Work With More (Non-G-Unit) Rappers? (including Video)

Do any of you think 50 would have worked with Justin Timberlake in the Get Rich Or Die Tryin days?

At the time, Justin was still releasing videos off his first solo album, Justified. Cool, he worked with the Neptunes and Timbaland. And ok, we liked some of those singles. But I doubt anyone in hip-hop would have felt comfortable working with him at the time. When asked about the timing of his Timberlake collaboration, Fif stressed that he never worked with much G-Unit outsiders.

I never noticed it before. But off top, Fif hasn't worked with too many people outside the G-Unit/Shady/Aftermath circle. He recorded with Snoop Dogg ("P.I.M.P"), Ciara ("Can't Leave You Alone"), Missy ("Work It" rmx), Mary J Blige ("Let Me Be The One"), Timbaland ("Come And Get Me") and Ludacris ("Blow It Out Ya Ass" rmx). That's all I can remember for now. Feel free to refresh my memory.

Anyway, during our recent interview, Fif went on about Curtis featuring more guest appearances than its previous albums. Let's see. But he mostly worked with singers. Robin Thicke, Mary, Justin and Akon.

A friend of mine recently said that Fif's reluctance to work with other rappers may have hurt him a bit. I'm not sure how. I do respect that he was selective with features. But at the same time, it couldn't hurt him to work with a few more outsiders here and there. Speak on it.

if he trying to just jump on a song with whoever is hot, people would say he just doing it to stay fresh.. so its something u just cant say yeah he should, he probably could and there are a few i wish we would do songs with just cause of the aggressive content and the fact that it would be big for hip hop. if its gonna be a really big hit and turn heads then he should, but not just to say i made a song with such and such

50 Also Worked With Dmx, Natedog, Jamie Foxx, Beyoncee He Said He Did Something With Stevie Wonder For His Last Album But It Didn't Make The Cut. No Point Working With A Lot Of Rappers, Just Brings Your Album Budget Up, And 50 Wanted To Promote His Artists Not Someone Else's Artists Thats Why He Kept It In The Family. Thats Why He Always Had Every G-unit Member In Any Video They Shot, It Was All About Promotion. I Remember 50 Saying Back Then When He Wasn't Signed To Shady/aftermath People Didn't Want To Do Features For Him, So When He Blew Up And Became The Biggest Thing In Hip Hop He Said Fuck Em, Now They Gonna Ask Him For Features And He Aint Doin Any.

50 should work with other non gunit rappers so he can get murked in every song, 50 cant keep up with half the rappers out there... he'll make good hook over a dope beat but the rappin part 80% of the rappers out there would kill his ass on any song

not only does 50 rap about the most repetitive bullshit, but he repeats rhymes hes used in previous songs, and almost repeats entire lines, not to mention he's used the rhyme "OH" or "FLOW" for 5 or 6 full verses in 5 or 6 different songs
