0 Cent and New York's Hot 97 Radio Station (WQHT) have teamed up for "50 Cent's 5 Borough Tour," a four-day trek during which the Queens MC will perform tracks from his upcoming album, "Curtis" (G-Unit/Interscope), around New York.
50 will make stops in as-yet-unannounced locations in Brooklyn, the Bronx, Staten Island, Manhattan and Queens from Sept. 13-16. Tickets cost $50 and are on sale now via Ticketmaster and Hot97.com. Here are the dates for "50 Cent's 5 Borough Tour": Sept. 13: Manhattan (Hosted by Hot 97's Angie Martinez, DJ Enuff and Funkmaster Flex) Sept. 14: Staten Island (Hosted by Hot 97's Dennis Rivera and DJ Bobby Trendz Sept. 15: Brooklyn (Hosted by Hot 97's Bobby Konders, Jabba and Mister Cee) Sept. 16: Bronx (Hosted by Hot 97's Cipha Sounds) Sept. 16: Queens (Hosted by Hot 97's DJ Envy) -- Mariel Concepcion, N.Y. The first "Saturday Night Live" CD of live performances in nearly 10 years will be sold exclusively at Target retail stores, Billboard.biz reports. Priced at $13.98, "Live From SNL! Music Performances From Saturday Night Live" will be available nationwide on Sunday (Sept. 9). Culled from the show's last four seasons (2003/04 - 2006/07), the 11-track compilation features performances by Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5, Foo Fighters and others. Distributed by Sony BMG Music Entertainment, the CD is produced by Broadway Video Entertainment and NBC Universal Video, Music & Product Development. The revamped "Live From SNL!" series builds on Target's now five-year partnership with NBC Universal. The chain is the exclusive retailer for the company's "Sounds of the Season" holiday music collection, which includes two compilation CDs and single artist EPs by Enya, Lionel Richie and John Legend. -- Gail Mitchell, L.A. G-Unit rapper Spider Loc will guest on the Sept. 24 of the hit Showtime series "Weeds." Loc's character is named 2-Strikes, and this small acting part airs just before his upcoming independent album, "West Kept Secret -- 'The Prequel'" drops on Sept. 11. The album, issued by RBC Records and distributed via Koch, is led by the single "Bluntiful World." Spider Loc was signed to G-Unit records in 2005. He was featured on 2005's "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" film soundtrack and Tony Yayo's "Thoughts of a Predicate Felon." -- Hillary Crosley, N.Y. |
