08/08/07 - Stop Asking 50 Cent About Lil' Wayne, They're Not "The Same"
"We've met before right," 50 Cent asks after shaking my hand in the lobby of G-Unit Clothing's offices. "Yeah," I reply.
I'm thinking, cool. He remembers me, so this should be easy. After refreshing his memory, we jump right into the interview. Everything is going well and his answers are really good. Towards the end, barely a split second after I mention Lil' Wayne, 50 goes off before I get to ask the question. Fif is insulted. How dare all these journalists keep asking him about Weezy when the man's last album sold less than The Massacre did in its first week? And is anybody noticing that Fif paved the way for Weezy's current mixtape run? Fif then informs me that he's tired of promoting because he's been hearing the same questions all day. After a tense moment, the interview resumes successfully. 50: Let me ask you something....turn the camera off. Did you believe me? Jackpot: I mean, Ravid mentioned that you had been hearing the same questions all day, but I didn't think you heard my questions. 50: [Erupts in laughter] I was fucking with you. Maaaaaan, he was playing the whole time. I knew I hadn't read or heard most of what he told us. Keeps your eyes peeled for it.
