06/26/07 - Dr. Dre Too Busy To Produce Eve's New Album

Hip-hop mogul Dr. Dre has reneged on a promise to help rapper Eve produce her latest album, citing a hectic schedule. Eve - real name Eve Jihan Jeffers - was promised Dre's input on her fourth album Here I Am, but fellow rapper Swizz Beatz was forced to stand in instead when the rapper/producer proved too busy.

However, the snubbed star denies any ill-feeling, insisting Dre's replacement was more than up to the challenge. She tells MTV, "The decision was to have Dre start off the album, but Dre is kinda busy.

"Swizz is my brother. He knows how to work with me. What was supposed to happen, (Swizz) was just going to do a couple (of tracks), but once we get together, we can't stop working. He knows me really well. We decided he might as well be one of the executive producers."

She adds there's still a strong possibility Dre will contribute more than the one song he's offered, called Fire, before the August release date: "Dre likes when projects are done when you come to him. He'd rather it that way, so it's cool."
