Hip-Hop Rumors: Don Juan Rumors Wrong! T-Pain Arrested! Kelly Rowland Supports!

BISHOP DON JUAN - FALSE RUMORS!

Ahhh...the joys of being a pimp. Bishop Don Juan and his manager hit me up and made it perfectly clear that he hasn't been sued for anything. He's free and clear and even was recently featured in the May issue of Maxium and the May 7 issue of the Enquirer. Look for him. I reiterate, the Don Juan hasn't been hit with any lawsuits and is actually doing quite well. Now that that is out of the way...

T-PAIN ARRESTED?

I wasn't there, but I heard it went down in a crazy way over the weekend at the annual Springfest. Here is a truncated, unedited account of what happened from a good pal of mine.

The whole incident was real crazy. T-Pain was performing and he was told he had to shorten his show. He started telling the crowd they were trying to shorten his show and that he wasn't going for it He was told he had 30 mins and he wasn't getting off that stage until those 30 mins were up. He also said those fans in the audience were the people that helped him go #1 and he was gonna give them a show. He said a lot of other things to the crowd in reference to what was going on. During all that the whole backstage area was blanketed by 20+ police trying to cut the sound off to stop the show. T-Pain's manager ran off stage to the dj booth, jumped up on the platform, and then pushed back down by a female police officer. As he tried to jump back up there he got swarmed by at least 6 officers and ran back on stage with the officers arguing at him. Meanwhile, the police were still arguing with everyone backstage to cut the music and T-Pain was still out there doin his thing. He performed Richboy's "Throw Some D's" while they did a lil dance to play with the crowd. The crowd was loving it! Then Pain did "Buy You A Drink". The crowd was loving it, only to be disappointed 1 minute in by the music being stopped. T-Pain tossed his mic in anger and then the excited crowd started chanting "T-Pain T-Pain T-Pain". T-Pain began jumping up & down shotting his middle fingers up at police screaming "Fuck You Fuck You". In the midst of all the craziness backstage T-Pain and crew ran offstage to the van. So did the 20+ police officers. The police immediately ran up to the van and pulled T-Pain's crew out of the van. His road manager Boogie's shirt was pulled up and around his face as the grabbed him out the van. Tay Dizm, one of T-Pain's performers, got pulled out the van and thrown on the ground. T-Pain got pulled on too. The officers took all of their jewelry off, even J-Lyric's who was not even in the van and didn't get arrested. The police were very angry and seemed like they had a point to prove as they dragged T-Pain and crew to the office away from everyone else. It was a crazy incident that I think was a defining moment in T-Pain's career.

JAY-Z's INFLUENCE IS SWELLING! SANDALS ARE IN!

I spotted this report from the Washington Post by way of the good folks at Crunk-N-Disordery. Apparently, Jay-Z has helped to make sandals and Chancletas acceptable for men to wear. Check it!

"The perception of men in sandals is changing," says Genevieve Ascencio, a spokeswoman for Frye, maker of macho Western wear. "It's not your typical 'guy in black socks on the beach' look. It's a lot cooler now, and people who have a lot of street cred are validating the trend." She cited Grammy-winner Jay-Z, who raised eyebrows among hip-hoppers last year when he was spotted wearing flip-flops while strolling the beach with Beyonce. "If it's good enough for Jay-Z, it's good enough for every man," Miss Ascencio says.

OLD BEEF WITH MARQUES HOUSTON AND NE-YO!

Did you know that Marques Houston and Ne-Yo used to have beef? From what I heard, when Ne-Yo was coming up, Mr. Houston didn't give him the time of day. MH used to actually date a really good friend of Ne-Yo's and connected the two. When they got on the phone, MH was allegedly mean and disrespectful. On top of it, MH was still in Immature, his old group. Anyway, later on, Ne-Yo would even write a hit song for the boy and he still was allegedly crazy towards him, apparently not making the connection. Anyway...the pair have put that foolishness aside and Ne-Yo even wrote some new material for Marques.

ANOTHER REASON TO LOVE KELLY

I found another reason to love Kelly Rowland - she speaks the real to real about Hip-Hop. Check out her comments to RWD magazine.

MONICA SPLITS WITH HER MAN?

Atlanta Gossip, the ATL-based gossip entity, has found sources that say R&B singer Monica and "her fiance' of four years, Rodney "Rock" Hill Jr. have split." According to urban lore, he might have cheated on her with a stripper? I don't know that he'd be so foolish, but who knows. They reportedly used to share a home in the A, but now only Monica and their toddler son reside there now. We'll see how this unfolds...true or false?

ILLSEED'S QUICKIES

Those ads delivered on myspace have reportedly been changed from "shoot the rapper" to "snap the rapper." Not all though, I saw them when I was checking my account the other day. I also saw a "shoot the pop star" ad and that had some blond chick in a sniper scope.

Shout out to Bun B for rocking that "Don Imus Is A Nappy Head Hoe" shirt in circulation on the net. LOL!

Rumor has is, the Beastie Boys next album will show them go back to their rock roots instead of the old school rap style that they have maintained.

Some of my Intel saw Lyfe Jennings, Jody Breeze (Boyz n da hood) Kenny Anderson (NBA), Swizz Beats and TI & Tiny with other friends having lunch at a posh hotel on Ocean drive in Miami Beach.

Usher has released "The Masterpiece," a pre-album mixtape in support of his next album. If this is The Masterpiece, what is the actual album going to be?

Rumor has it TLC's own T-Boz was spotted at Atlanta's only 5-Diamond restaurant in the Four Seasons Hotel this weekend with Philadelphia Eagle Takeo Spikes. This comes as Philadelphia drafts Houston's quarterback Kevin Kolb with their first of two second-round picks. You know, I have no idea what this means, but I hope is means a super bowl for Philly.
