50 Cent is heading to New Orleans. Curtis Jackson has joined Robert Deniro in New Orleans, a new Drama/Thriller set for release in 2008.

New Orleans is currently in production. Reportedly, 50 plays Deniro's partner. The two cops are looking for clues as to who killed Deniro's old partner, who allegedly died during Hurricane Katrina.

50 has already been attached to a variety of films including Get Rich or Die Tryin', Home of the Brave, and the upcoming The Dance and The Ski Mask Way.

In other rapper/actor news...

Common Sense is busy Finding Forever, but that hasn't stopped him from making moves in the film industry. The Chicago MC has recently appeared in Smokin' Aces and has at least one more movie to release this year with American Gangster.

American Gangster is currently in post-production. It is reportedly a film, set in the 1970's, which follows drug lord Frank Lucas, who smuggles drugs inside of coffins bringing fallen soldiers home from Vietnam. Based on Lucas' life, the film also details how he later becomes an informant.

The film stars Denzel Washington, Russell Crowe, Cuba Gooding Jr. and fellow Hip-Hop representatives RZA and T.I.

The film is scheduled to hit theaters November 2, 2007.

that's cool, I actually don't think Fif is a bad actor, I've seen much worse, and the fact that he was able to pull a tear in GRODT makes me think he is capable of acting.... and when the music thing's done, I think he should stick to acting,if u keep rapping and ur older it looks stupid, but u can act at any age
