R. Kelly Has Lawsuit Filed Against Him, Accused Of Theft & Assault

R. Kelly has consistently experienced legal troubles over the past eighteen months and his name has been drug through the mud yet again. Henry "Love" Vaughn, a man alleging to be a "mentor and guide" to Kelly dating back to his teenage years, has filed suit against Kelly on accounts physical assault and failing to pay him for a song idea.

Vaughn has cited that he is responsible for coming up with the concept to "Step In The Name Of Love," a song dedicated to the "stepping" dance culture popular in the Chicago area. Kelly's spokesman, Allan Mayer, has bitten back, stating, "Kelly has written more than 2,000 songs without ever using a co-writer. The lawsuit is a pathetic collection of half-truths, distortions, and outright lies." Mayer also noted Mr. Vaughn as a "disgruntled former employee and hanger-on."

As for the alleged assault charge, Vaughn claims that he went to Kelly's home in Olympia Fields, ILL on February 19th to watch a basketball game and was drug into the basement where he was held against his will and struck many times in the body and face.

Vaughn's lawsuit seeks compensatory damages, punitive damages and court costs.
