Ja Rule sold more than all of gunit except maybe 50 when he was in his prime...Ja rule came out into the Game jus as Gangsta as 50cent with songs like "who wana die wit me" "holler" etc...Ja Rule started making "hip pop" cuz he knew that if he made a more universal rap music then he would sell more and make more money...and it would appeal to a wider audience...and although he was making some "hip pop" songs like ones with j.lo and ashanti, he was still stayin gangsta with harder songs on his albums...he did it to make money...

his music has gone from gangsta with his first album to HORRIBLE LYRICS that have no effort put into them and shit songs that he jus finds a decent beat that everyone wil enjoy and jus puts shit lyrics to the song. Thats what he does with candyshop and jus a lil bit....their dope beats but gay, weak ass lyrics that only appeal to the mainstream hip hop fans.
