Raekwon Says Diddy Should Help Shyne Avoid Deportation, "I Don't See Why He Wouldn't"

Wu-Tang Clan's Raekwon has weighed in onJamal "Shyne" Barrow's deportation issues and said Diddy should be first in line to help him avoid being sent to Belize.

Raekwon also said he felt Shyne should be allowed to legally stay in New York.

"That's f*cked up, that's politics," Raekwon explained in an interview. "Now the politic game that wanted him in this environment gotta support him and help him out. The minute they help him out and make him feel like the n*gga he's supposed to be, you know what I mean, I think that he can live. They can't stop a man from wanting to feed himself and feed his family. And if this is where he resided to doing this at, you can't take that away from a man. Like come on, n*gga been away from his family in a long time and I run with n*ggas that did that amount of time as well and it's like, yo, you always wanna see them n*ggas overcome so it's only right that he gets that opportunity. Of course [Diddy should help.] I don't see why he wouldn't. Maybe somebody gotta ask him right. Or maybe he wants to do it anyway. So you know it's not up to me to judge a n*gga or pull a n*gga card on what he should do, it's just about what he wanna do." (Absolut TV)

The Clipse's Pusha T recently told SOHH he wanted to hit the studio with Shyne.

"October 6th I hear, I hear [laughs]," Pusha jokingly confirmed. "I want a feature, I want a feature, I want a feature, I want a feature. Period. When the reports talked about Shyne coming home -- we reached out to Shyne for Hell Hath No Fury, early. We reached out to [Jive Records executive] Mark Pitts, we reached out to Shyne early. And I think, you know, we had communication with all them and that's why The Clipse got a shout-out in, what was that, Godfather Buried Alive? So I-want-a-feature-when-you-get-home! I been supporting you, I been everything. We've been riding around listening to Shyne, we never stopped. It never stops, Shyne is the man." (SOHH)

While still being decided whether he will be allowed to stay in the United States or be deported to Belize, Shyne released a statement earlier this month denying a conversation he supposedly had with Diddy.

"I want it known that this supposed conversation is a figment of Sean Combs' imagination," he says in a statement. "He never spoke with me, he never visited me nor would I ever accept a phone call or visit from him. The only way I would do either of those things would be if he stepped up and did the right thing for the victims of the incident." (Rolling Stone)

In addition to his thoughts on Shyne's release, Diddy previously said they spoke to one another.

"It's a blessing that he's coming home," Puff told DJ Absolut in an interview last month. "I spoke with him a couple weeks ago. He sounded like he was in good spirits. I know he can't wait to get home. And I know he's definitely gonna heat the whole scene up. He's definitely gonna do it, you know what I'm saying, he definitely was one of the most talented young artists that I had the pleasure to work with so I'm quite sure he's been using his time wisely and I'm quite sure he has some heat."
