Jay-Z Brushes Off The Game & Jim Jones, "For Me Competition Is Nas, Eminem"
Jay-Z recently revealed his reasons for not responding to disses from The Game and Jim Jones, saying he does not view those rappers as real competition.

"Not really that competitive, because the competition isn't based on real competition," Jay said in the October 2009 XXL Magazine. "I mean, Game, I'm his f*ckin idol. If you ask him and he's being truthfully honest with you it's just based off his insecurities and, for the most part, pretension. That type of competition doesn't do anything for me. It's almost like someone trying to set you up, and everyone knows they're to set you up, and everybody. It's just dumb. It's not in the spirit of competition, because he's not competition for me. He's not. Not then, not ever -- he'd have to improve considerably. Competition for me competition is Nas, Eminem. Like Jim Jones? That's ridiculous to me. So how do I respond to that? I can't win. If I win, then they'll be like, 'See. Now chill. You're a f*ckin' bully.' And if it manages to throw a haymaker from the West Coast, then it's like 'Oooooh.' It's not even fun. Like, before I did it, because I would diss anybody. Now who has time to do this sh*t everyday? But before, when I was running after the little fat n*gga from Mase's camp, I was doing anybody. Anybody said anything. If I thought you said something. When I was running in the streets, I wanted all that type of activity. Nobody wanted nothing. Now everybody's a tough guy." (XXL Mag) He previously spoke with DJ Semtex about Game's disses and the basis of rap beefs. "[There should be a committee] because beef now is so corny," Jay said last week. "It's not really about nothing, I don't know if I said anything to warrant having beef, or if I said anything derogatory about him. If I say I'm not talking about this man,you know, I just said I'm not talking about him. I ain't say anything derogatory about him. So a lot of beefs are either misunderstandings, ego or just stupid or just done for publicity purposes. That could become tiresome. If it's a genuine clash for the top a la Jay-Z and Nas, that's official because we handled it the right way and at the end of the day we ended up working for each other. But a lot of beefs are just frivolous, they lack merit." (DJ Semtex TV) The Game also warned Jay about what he planned to do if a diss was made against him. "My fans expect me to respond and I ain't lost a rap beef to date," Game said in an interview last July. "He just really needs to sit his old a** down somewhere and let the new n*ggas make money...He knows if he goes to war with me, it's gonna be never-ending. From Joe Budden to Memphis Bleek to Ras Kas to Yukmouth to G-Unit as a staff, record label and group, I'm a one-man army man. I will tear you down.
