Cee-Lo Green has confirmed recent reports of a Goodie Mob reunion show which is scheduled to take place in Georgia next month.
Click here to find out more! While not announcing if each member would attend, Cee-Lo did inform fans of the reunion date. "What up, you recognize this face," he said in a video. "This is Cee-Lo Green, one fourth of the all mighty Goodie Mob. Official reunion show, September 19th, right here in the homeland of Atlanta, Georgia...It's a hot summer day, beautiful. I can't wait, make sure you be there, I'll be there." (YouTube) Rumors of a reunion show landed online late last month. The reunion was teased in Atlanta alt-weekly Creative Loafing, and we've just gotten more specifics via e-mail from the show's organizer. It's called "Remember Atlanta: Goodie Mob Reunion," and there's a possibility that the majority of the Dungeon Family will be showing up for the event. No venue has been announced yet, but for those who can't attend the event will also be broadcast live on the internet. We'll try not to get too giddy while we wait for more info, but the thought of Goodie Mob and OutKast at the same show is a heady brew indeed. (Paste Magazine) The last time the group came together on-stage was in 2006. The upcoming reunion Goodie Mob show comes just over a year after the group had an unannounced reunion at a Nelly concert at Atlanta's Tabernacle. Talks of a Goodie reunion have been rumored for several years, especially after all four members performed together following a Gnarls Barkley concert in Atlanta in 2006. (Rolling Stone) Goodie Mob and Cee-Lo parted ways a decade ago when he reportedly left to pursue a solo run. The group unraveled after only its third album, World Party (1999), when Cee-Lo broke away for a solo career, and overall their recognition was much more critical than commercial. All the same, Goodie Mob's reputation as a pioneering Southern rap act remains firmly in place, and that reputation was considerably bolstered once Cee-Lo, as the frontman of Gnarls Barkley, broke into mainstream consciousness with the smash hit "Crazy" in 2006. As a footnote, a downsized Goodie Mob lineup remained semi-active after Cee-Lo's departure, releasing unheralded albums such as One Monkey Don't Stop No Show (2004). (All Music) Source-
