Young Jeezy Co-Signs Jay-Z's "D.O.A." Message, "You Autotune N*ggas Might Be In Trouble
Young Jeezy has sided with Jay-Z's "Death of Autotune" stance and issued a warning to autotune-based artists saying their popularity may have run its course. Click here to find out more! In addition to autotune, Jeezy also addressed the status of his upcoming album and thoughts on today's rap game. "I don't do autotune, so sh*t, it might be the death of autotune," Jeezy said in an interview. "All you autotune n*ggas might be in trouble...The album, n*ggas it's on the way. Don't even know when that motherf*cker is dropping, but it's on the way. The third [Thug] Motivation: 103, you know? I got the USDA album about to drop...The mixtape just dropped, Trappin' Ain't Dead, all you motherf*ckers are just scared and that's why I'm out here and that's why I'm gonna ride to the end." (My Fabolous Life) Fabolous also co-signed his former boss' song and said the autotune phase is nearing its end. "Autotune just became trendy man," he said in an interview. "Like everybody started to feel like, 'Okay, I'ma make a record and just put autotune in my voice and sing.' The people who were successful with using autotune, T-Pain, he did it with R&B. Kanye [West] took it a different kind of way trying to alternate hip-hop and then Lil Wayne did it in a hip-hop form. I think they were successful and people looked at that and said, 'We gonna just jump on top of that and make this thing our way of doing it.' It just took autotune to this trendy place and anything that gets very trendy like that, it's usually the death of it. Jay-Z was the one who took a stand and said I'm tired of this sh*t. And I think a lot of people felt that way." (Real Talk NY) T-Pain recently said Jay's new song has motivated him to continue with the voice-changing feature. "The album just got pushed up," Pain said in an interview earlier this week. "It was gonna come out September next year. [The record label], they're making me come out November this year. It makes the label look straight. I was gonna chill, because it was so many people that do what I do -- now Jay-Z done dropped the 'Death of Autotune' and it's time for me to come back...Oh yeah [I'm still using it]. Definitely now. Jay-Z said something...I gotta do it now. It's nothing outta the ordinary, so I'm ready." (MTV) However, Jim Jones has questioned Jigga's motives behind the record. "We're getting money off of autotune, it's just sounding like somebody's trying to knock a hustle and I don't think that's a little bit gangster if you ask me," Jones explained. "We getting money. He's knocking the hustle, ya dig? If these young men are making money off of autotune why would you try to stop that, when you got all the money already? I seen him [at Summer Jam], I don' think he wanted to see me. He almost stopped the whole concert because he said I was in the way of him getting on stage and all of that. But that's politics for the game, ya dig? How you doing? We back, we ballin', we poppin' champagne." (106 & Park) Source-

isn't funny how after jay spoke out against it, a bunch of rappers started to, like there were only aware of this problem after he made D.O.A.?

Don't like auto tune, but i have no problem with T-Pain using it, coz he ONLY uses it, and that's HIS thing (not originally, but at present)
i DO have a problem with the fact that rappers or singers (who can already sing) jump on the bandwagon unashamedly and feel like they have to do the auto tune trend just to get hits or whatever, when most of the tracks come out half arsed and shit
