Jim Jones Focuses On C.R.E.A.M, Places Money Over Art Form

Byrd Gang leader Jim Jones has reportedly discussed his desire behind starring in last month's "Hip-Hop Monologues" citing the importance of money over art.

Despite extending his music career into the realms of acting, Jimmy's primary focus remains on profits.

The 32 year-old recently starred in "Hip-Hop Monologues: Inside the Life and Mind of Jim Jones," an off-Broadway play which chronicles the rapper's life on the road and on the streets. But don't think Jones did it for the love for theater, he says making money is what pushed him onstage. Jones says he's not one to do things for the craft of it -- and that he's all about the money. His theatrical production kicked-off for a limited run last March.

Produced by Sony Entertainment, Damon Dash, and J Kyle's Korner Entertainment, "Hip Hop Monologues: Inside The Life & Mind of Jim Jones," the critically acclaimed artistic listening set to stage, will open for the first time to the public at the 37 Arts Theater in New York City and will play for a limited edition run of six performances. While having success on Koch Records in the past, Jones' Columbia Records debut, Pray IV Reign, got off to a slow start earlier this year.

Displaying his money-based interest via songs like "We Fly High (Ballin')" and in interviews, Jones was recently spotted in the Three Amigos DVD discussing a Dipset reunion based on profit.

"Amongst anything, peoples are just waiting for the get-back," Jones says in the trailer. "Besides the friendship, the business at this point is worth more than anything because we both have families and the money can be worth a lot more than any friendship...if we can put our equals aside and settle our difference and make some good business then, that's worth it for me." This album was a complete sellout IMO... it had 4 good songs and that's it... his past albums were CLASSICs compared to this one...

i dont think it even had 1 good song, it had such a wack sound, his last albums were worth it. This nigga not hungry no more, once u get the paper, ur music becomes shit cuz u aint got the hunger to be creative
