Bow Wow Quits Rap, "There's No More"

Bow Wow has announced his retirement from rap, citing his many accomplishments as the motivation for hanging up the mic.

While now calling hip-hop a "hobby," Bow Wow broke down why his new album New Jack City Pt. 2 will be his final release.

"This is my last album because for me, there's no more that needs to be done on the music side, I've done everything," Bow explained. "And the scary thing is I'm 22 years old and I'm young. I'm still a baby, so it's kinda like on the music side, I've been doing it since five. That's 17 years of non-stop music, music, music. There's nothing more to accomplish that I haven't seen yet...I feel like now it's time to endure a new challenge...Close the chapter on the Bow Wow legacy...As far as albums, I'm good. Seven albums at 22, that's crazy." (Real Talk NY)

Bow Wow's final album debuted last week within Billboard's Top 20.

Formerly known as "Lil," Bow Wow's New Jack City Pt. II hit the charts landing at No. 16. With a week under his belt, the rapper's new album stands at 30,900 sold discs. (SOHH Sales Wrap)

Aside from music, the rapper-turned-actor recently announced the launch of a new clothing line.

"Now, times are harder for parents to go to the mall if they got two kids or three kids and try to buy three pairs of Jordans -- I felt it was my responsibility to cater to them and put something in the market place affordable for all people," Bow Wow said in an interview. "So that's my way of giving back to my fans and the community. Same quality as a Jordan sneaker, it only cost $26 to make a Jordan shoe, period -- right now, it's Prince Bow which is me. I'm the prince of hip-hop and everyone calls me Bow anyway, so it's Prince Bow." (Jenny Boom Boom)

The clothing line will be launched later this year.

He recently negotiated a deal with the trailblazing Starbury brand to design a new line featuring clothes, shoes and sneakers for men, women, boys and girls. The collection, which will be both affordable and in line with the latest fashion trends, will be available for sale beginning in November 2009. well since his last album flopped, the only logical thing to do is walk away for a bit. a "comeback" album in 3-4 years would be a good move.. i'm surprised he did so shitty, he had a few good songs and appearances leading up to this..

He must have seen his numbers? He did his thing but he made the same mistake a couple artists do and not bow out before they fall off, if they able to.
