Cam'ron Reconsiders Dipset Reunion, "Maybe Next Year"

Cam'ron has reportedly backtracked on his previous stance against a reunion with Jim Jones and Juelz Santana, saying steps towards Diplomats uniting could happen in the future.

Though he says his main focus is on promoting Crime Pays and his new rap group U.N., Killa has hinted at being willing to patch things up.

"My year is booked up," Cam said in an interview. I don't have time for that. I wish them the best of luck. Maybe next year we can sit down and talk, but no time soon. Right now, I'm focused on Crime Pays and the rest of my 2009 plan." (Reuters)

Speaking with radio personality Angie Martinez earlier this month, Cam explained his distance from Jones.

"It's a wrap," Cam explained. "I called Jim. Everybody kinda not been speaking for three years anyway, it just got in the public. Once a problem gets in the public for me, it can't be fixed...Recently, about a month ago, I called [Freekey Zeeky's] phone, I speak to Jim, I say cool, maybe we can work some stuff out, I was really at the point we could really work some stuff out, like three minutes before I did a MTV interview...He gets on the radio and be like, 'No, me and Cam didn't speak, I don't know what he's talking about'...Three days after that, he says he did speak to me on the phone, but my whole thing is, why lie about a phone conversation." Jones has expressed his interest in reuniting with Cam in past interviews.

"I'm only one piece of this puzzle, there's three other players," Jones said in an interview. "I think there's two other people who are in...I'm willing to get another Diplomat album done for the sake of us being selfish these past few years and change and our personal differences. It's been more to it, it wasn't just us that made Diplomats happen...for that, I think we owe it to ourselves and a lot of other people...A Diplomat album can't be done without everyone's participation, everybody feeling the same way about making this thing happen." However, reunion possibilities appeared diminished when Cam spoke out against his estranged members last month.

"Look, I hear the deejays, I hear the fans, I hear everybody," Cam said in an interview. "I'm not doing a Diplomats album. I'm not rhyming with Jim or Juelz or nothing. I wish them all the best of luck. Accept it people. The people don't wanna seem to accept it. I don't have time to do that, it's not happening, I'm not doing it." (NowWutTV)
