Jay-Z & Kanye West Swagger Up, Ink Fragrance Deals

Jay-Z, Kanye West and Rihanna have reportedly secured fragrance deals with a company with ties to Jay, and some are whispering that Beyonce will be next.

The deal, which also includes Rihanna, was made public late Tuesday (April 7) evening.

Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West all got fragrance deals when Iconic Fragrances, LLC (where Jay-Z is a principal) signed an agreement with Parlux. Also part of the contract is the announcement of an upcoming scent with a "well-established female artist." Considering it's Jay-Z's deal and he's married to Beyonce, let's read between the lines on that one. (New York Magazine)

Products by Ye and Rihanna are likely to hit shelves within two years.

"[We] believe this proactive investment by Jay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West is an indication to the market place of the underlying value of Parlux," said Chief Executive Neil J. Katz. By securing deals, Katz said the company is doing what it can in a challenging economy and is betting that the celebrity appeal with help boost sales. Parlux plans to roll out the Rihanna and Kanye West products by the summer of 2010. (Wall Street Journal)

The threesome will now square off with other urban entertainers' fragrances including Usher, Jennifer Lopez and Diddy's recently launched I Am King cologne.

Diddy will launch a new fragrance called I Am King in 2008. Estimates are this new fragrance would add another $100 million to Diddys' bank book. I Am King will be sold exclusively at Macys through the holiday season and nationwide in February of 2009. (Highbrid Nation)

Aside from fragrances, Ye celebrated the release of his highly-anticipated Air Yeezy sneakers earlier this month by thanking fans for their purchases.

"We out here in Hawaii," Ye said in a video. "So I just wanna do a little video blog for y'all right quick. It's so beautiful wouldn't you agree? You can see the clouds and the mountains. But I wanna thank everybody that went out and supported, copped the Yeezys. A lot of people had to pay overpriced, next time when we do the Yeezys 2, hopefully we can do some more but it was real good to get the buzz out there and I really appreciate everybody that went out there and supported it."
