Cam'ron On Why He Hates A Job, "It's A Lot Of Chiefs & No Indians"

Cam'ron recently revealed the motive behind his song, "I Hate My Job," and explained why he refused to work a typical 9 to 5.

Cam said being raised around business minded individuals motivated him to look past regular employment.

"I worked for five days out my life," Cam explained in an interview. "Why I can't take a job? You got a job? This, you make your own schedule, right? You get there when you want, you ain't gotta wait and sit in traffic at nine in the morning, after work. You don't have to worry about rush hour getting home, it's the best. Then on top of that, you probably gonna think you smarter than the person you working for anyway, so it's just gonna piss you off. So me, personally, I just kinda was raised around people who had their own business and entrepreneurs. I think that's kinda the way it is in Harlem. It's a lot of chiefs and no Indians." Cam returned to the spotlight, after months of absence, with his "Hate My Job" track reflecting the nation's current economic crisis.

"Ayo I'm looking for a job/Ain't nobody hiring," Cam rapped, "Then I asked the boss/When y'all doing firing/You I'm admiring/Nice job, family man, car and looking in these Want ads tiring/Shoulda been a fireman...I put on my pants/Put on my shoes/I prayed to God/Paid all my dues/I'm tryin' to win/But it seems like I was born to lose..." Killa's upcoming Crime Pays album will be promoted with a compilation of music videos.

"What's going on everybody," Killa says in a video. "Y'all been looking for me and here I am. Just a brief breakdown real quick. The album Crime Pays comes out May 5th on Asylum/Diplomat Records, you know it's gonna be a good look. Thank you for all the support on 'I Hate My Job,' it wasn't my single or nothin', just something I threw out there but thank you for the support...Also, we have the movie for Crime Pays coming out this July. Make sure y'all go pick that up later on...I'm gonna be shooting videos from now until the album comes out. I'm gonna put out a video every two weeks." (World Star Hip Hop)

The Harlem, New York-bred emcee previously detailed the concept and content of his new project.

"It's called Crime Pays because I feel that I am the living story of crime pays," Cam told XXL Mag. "The CD has 80 minutes on it so you know a lot of times people don't really know that they put 12, 13, 14 songs and there is still 30 minutes left...So I'm trying to just fill it all the way up, being that I haven't been out in so long...Nothing major as far as appearances are concerned."
