Method Man Falls Back On "Pothead" Claims, "I May Not Do Any More Interviews Ever"

Method Man has lashed back at the media for not picking up on his sarcastic "pothead" tax debt statements last week by threatening to stop doing future interviews.

The Wu-Tang Clan rapper clarified his marijuana usage claims explaining his words were merely jokes.

"The reporter said I didn't pay my taxes," Mef said in a video. "It was a play on the Afro[man] song. We was playing around...We were joking around at the end of the article and it wasn't fair that the Daily News put that headline up there, but when you make a movie like How High and sh*t, people always gonna paint you like that and that's the bottom line...Whose gonna really honestly believe that a motherf*cker forgot to pay his taxes because a motherf*cker was smoking too much weed...I may not do any more interviews ever based on how they take your words outta context, ya dig? It's all good though. Y'all be good." (World Star Hip Hop)

Mef previously detailed his past issues with the government and falling behind on tax payments as a result of marijuana usage.

"Myself, I'm a pothead," he admitted. "It's no secret. Everyone knows that. I go on the road and forget everything else. Sure, [the tax department] sent letters to my house saying, 'We need this money.' They started sending them in 2002." (Staten Island Advance)

Mef's truck was taken from him earlier this month as a result of a $50,000 debt in New York taxes.

The repo man got Method Man. The state Department of Taxation seized a 2008 Lincoln Navigator belonging to the rapper and member of the Wu-Tang Clan, who failed to pay $52,503 in personal income taxes. The luxury SUV was taken at 6 a.m. Wednesday (March 18) from Method Man's Staten Island, New York home. (New York Post)

Aside from music, Mef has had various on-screen television and movie roles.

In addition to his successful music career, he has appeared in such movies as Belly and How High, along with TV series including "OZ," "Burn Notice," "The Wire" plus "Meth & Red Show." (Market Watch)
