Chris Brown and Rihanna Are Taking A Break: Report

2009-02-11 - Rihanna and Chris BrownAfter all the media coverage, regarding their February domestic spat, and then their reunion in Miami shortly after, the couple is reportedly taking some time off from each other.

A source told Us Weekly recently that the two plan to spend some time apart. At least for the time being.

"They're taking a break," the source said. "Jay-Z told Rihanna she needs to cut things out with Chris, at least in public."

While things are looking bad for Chris Brown, his girl Rihanna seems to have recovered fairly quickly. Last week, the Barbados-born singer reportedly texted Katy Perry and partied with her and "Heroes" star Hayden Panettiere at Hollywood hotspot Les Deux.

A week before, she flew to New York City, and was seen having dinner with Brandy, Beyoncé and Jay-Z at the Spotted Pig Friday night.

Brown, on the other hand, hasn't been seen much. Us says he's been hiding out at his house in Montpelier, Va. But, he was recently spotted buying hat at a local Lids store.

"He said, 'It's not what it seems' about the Rihanna situation," Lids salesperson Shavon Bradshaw told Us Weekly.

Brown was scheduled to appear at the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards this Saturday, but pulled his name from the ballots after he was charged with two felonies earlier this month in his alleged assault of Rihanna.
