Lyfe Jennings Inks New Label Deal, Preps Fourth Album

After parting ways from his label Sony Entertainment and management, platinum-selling R&B crooner Lyfe Jennings has announced a brand new deal for his own label deal, Jesus Swings, via a joint venture with Warner Bros. Records.

His first order of business will be to release his fourth album.

What seems like a second chance of a lifetime is something all too familiar with Lyfe Jennings. The singer has experienced supernatural favor on a number of occasions, including an infamous prison big that began at the tender age of 14. As referred to in many of his lyrics, music became Jennings escape during his 10-year sentence. It was during his incarceration that Jennings honed in on his musical abilities -- singing, playing instruments and writing about his experiences while behind bars. His debut album 268-192, titled after his identification number, received overwhelming acclaim.

Three albums later, Jennings has switched management teams and is currently managed by Imani Entertainment Group, who also represent Keyshia Cole.

"It isn't every day, let alone in an economy such as the one we have, that an artist can leave a label, ink a multi-million dollar deal and do it all with a positive message," said Manny Halley, CEO of Imani Entertaintment Group. "It's a pleasure to witness good still reaping good."

Lyfe's yet-to-be-titled album is due this summer.
