Default T.I. Details Gun Arrest In New Vibe, Says It's The Last Time He Will Talk About It

T.I. Details Gun Arrest In New Vibe, Says It's The Last Time He Will Talk About It

Vibe magazine held a private reception on Monday (March 9th) in New York City for T.I.'s cover of their April issue titled "Cell Therapy".

The mag's Senior Editor Benjamin Meadows-Ingram authors the cover story coupled by candid appearances from T.I.'s manager Jason Geter and his Criminal Defense Attorney Steve Sadow.

In the candid article, the rapper details extensively the moments after his BET Hip Hop Awards performance rehearsal and clears up rumors, by thoroughly detailing many previously assumed facets of his legal ordeal.

Specifics about the illegal possessions discovered by the ATF are explained: Colt 5.56 cal rifle, an AK 7.62x39 mm pistol and ammunition were peppered throughout T.I. and Tiny's bedroom. A Bushmaster Carbon 15 with laser sight, a .44 mag, a Calico 9 mm, gun boxes and ammunition were found inside of the couple's walk-in fingerprint operated safe, located within a secret department of their closet.

The article also squashes rumors that suggested the rapper snitched to lower his sentencing. A January 2005 United States Supreme Court ruling determined that the federal sentencing guidelines were suggestive, not mandatory, thus allowing T.I.'s defense team the ability to reduce the suggested jail time.

Although T.I. has been sentenced to serve 1,500 hours of community service (1,000 to be served before reporting to prison), the rapper has optimized his time to empower children to focus on their education. "Violence is not a part of success," said T.I. "There is no way you can live a life of violence and expect to be successful from it."

As far as his legal situation, he wants kids to learn from his mistakes. "No mistake is too great to bounce back from," T.I. tells BallerStatus.com. "No matter what you done, you can always wake up tomorrow a new person and start changing your life from that point forward."

Despite a cancellation for an appearance at Brooklyn's Crown Heights' Middle School of the Arts on Friday (March 6th), T.I. visited The Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club in the Bronx, prior to the private reception.

The candid story chronicled in Vibe is the last time the Atlanta native wants to revisit his arrest, and cites answering forthcoming inquiries as a "regurgitation of facts."

T.I. is scheduled to report to prison 30-60 days from March 27th, for illegally possessing firearms and for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm after being arrested in 2007. He currently faces a year in prison after being sentenced to 1,500 hours of community service, a year of house arrest and a $100,000 fine.
