Diddy Hits Road For "Making His Band" Artist Search
Rap mogul Diddy has hit the road in search of musicians to travel with him on tour for his upcoming album Last Train to Paris. The Bad Boy CEO recently revealed the concept behind his nationwide artist hunt. "I'm starting to get into production on my next television show, 'Making His Band,' it's a little bit different than 'Making the Band' because it's about me making my own band and going on tour for my next album," Diddy explained. "I'm looking for young musicians to give them a chance...that got that Diddy, Bad Boy swag...We always see the people that want to sing get in front of the camera, but what about the guys that make us look good? The guitarists. The keyboardists. The bassists. The drummer. The background singers. The deejay...March 14th we go to Chicago...then we go to Detroit March 21st...then New York March 28th...Y'all can go to www.myspace.com/mtvmakinghisband." (Diddy Blog) Diddy recently revealed plans to release his sixth album this fall. "It's deeper than any of the other stuff I have ever made," Diddy said. "Last Train to Paris comes out in September...T-Pain gave me permission to use the vocoder, the Auto-Tune, and he showed me various tricks that nobody knows but him and myself." (All Headline News) He has reportedly recruited a star-studded line-up of producers for the album. As with all of his albums, the new CD will include collaborations with hot-right-now producers The-Dream and T-Pain and perhaps overly familiar names on the urban-pop front; The Neptunes, Rodney Jerkins, Mario Winans and Tricky. (Baltimore Sun) Originally believed to retire as an artist after 2006's Press Play, Diddy previously said it was time to return to the recording booth. "I've been a businessman for the past two years," he said in a statement. "It's time for me to focus on being an artist again. I am going to show the world a new refreshing side of me. Get on or get off!" (Hollyscoop) Source: Sohh
