50 Cent Eyes Release Date For "Before I Self Destruct"

Platinum-selling rapper 50 Cent has announced plans to release his fourth solo project Before I Self Destruct in late spring.

In an interview about his new video game, Blood on the Sand, Fif briefly discussed his album and possibly staying with Interscope Records.

"My next album, Before I Self Destruct, is my fourth and the fifth is a greatest hits option for Interscope Records, so when they're saying [last album], my contract will be up and I'll be re-negotiating," Fif said in an interview. "I could potentially be staying at Interscope or going somewhere else...My album Before I Self Destruct will be out in May. My record kinda got moved back because Eminem's record will be coming out before me because [Dr.] Dre will have completed his project before I can get Dre to finish the pieces I need to complete my project." 50 previously discussed the reasons behind his fouth album's last delay, citing his role as an artist compared to his Shady Records boss.

"Right now I'm on the train and the Em choo choo car goes first," Fif said. "See what happens is I think that people forget that I'm actually Eminem's artist because I've had so much success on my own and I moved away from it." (Associated Press)

Fif's album was also pushed back late last year.

Originally scheduled to come out December 9, the platinum-selling artist will leave fans waiting a bit longer as he moves his fourth and final Interscope solo project back from its original release date in the winter to an unspecified date next year. (SOHH)

Accompanying his deluxe edition album, 50 will provide fans with a bonus DVD called Two Turntables and a Microphone: The Life and Death of Jam Master Jay.

"Times are hard," 50 said in a statement. "Everyone is trying to make the most of what they have. I want to give my fans something extra for their hard earned dollars. They'll get a free bonus when the pick up the album." Focusing on 50's late mentor and friend, Run DMC's Jam Master Jay, the 85-minute disc will include appearances from Reverend Run, Russell Simmons, Jay-Z and more. (Rolling Stone)

i feel like em's shit gon be pushed back..its not coming out end of april..then how's fif gonna drop a month leter...they atleast need a few months in between and i dnt see bisd dropping till end of june...

I can definantly believe eminem droppin end of april because he just did the video for 'crack a bottle' and once thats released he could start promoting it so end of april is believable, end of april is 6 weeks away which is plenty of time to put the video out and promote, its already been a no.1 song so the album wont need much promoting at all
