Suge Knight Pleads Guilty In Domestic Dispute, Witness Goes Missing

Hip-Hop mogul Suge Knight has pleaded guilty to misdemeanor battery against his girlfriend stemming from a domestic dispute the two had last summer.

By accepting the plea, Suge will have three charges dropped from his case.

As part of a deal in Las Vegas Justice Court, Suge pleaded guilty to misdemeanor domestic battery, but had two felony drug possession charges and one felony coercion charge dismissed. The felony charges were dropped because cops can't find his girlfriend Melissa Isaac, who was the prosecution's main witness. (TMZ)
Without Isaac, Suge did not have to rely on his attorneys to prosecute her testimony.

District Attorney David Roger said police had lost contact with Isaac and without her testimony on the witness stand, prosecutors would have had a hard time proving beyond a reasonable doubt not only the domestic battery charge, but the three felonies. "Domestic violence is a serious issue in our community, and anytime we can get a domestic violence conviction without a victim cooperating, we're happy," Roger said. "We're hopeful the defendant will never batter a woman again, or he'll face more serious charges and consequences." (Las Vegas Sun)
Suge's guilty plea will still force the rap mogul to return to court this summer.

Justice of the Peace Eric Goodman ordered Knight to receive counseling and pay a $340 fine. He's due back in court in August for a status check. (Contra Costa Times)
The incident took place in Las Vegas last August.

Reports claim Knight punched his girlfriend, Melissa Isaac, while driving which led to her taking hold of the wheel and steering it into a curb. Isaac then left the vehicle as Suge followed which resulted in his arrest by Las Vegas police. (SOHH)
Suge was recently the victim of a physical altercation earlier this week at an All-Star event in Arizona.

"At about 3:30 AM, police were called to a private party on the second floor of the W Hotel," the police report reads. "Hotel security personnel called police when they became concerned that there would be a fight between two groups of guests having heated words in the VIP area. Officers arrived and watched a group of about 6-8 guests exiting the VIP area. They saw one person, later identified as Robert Carnes Jr., punch [Knight] in the head two times. Officers deployed tasers to quell the fight that erupted." (Police Report)
