Diddy Pulls Back DJ Dis, "I'm Not Attacking The DJ"

Hip-Hop mogul Diddy has addressed his recent "DJs ain't DJs no more" statements claiming today's disc jokeys should begin applying their own style.

The Bad Boy CEO has clarified his stance on today's DJs.

"The DJ introduced me to hip-hop," he said in his Diddy blog. "There was something printed....saying I said the DJ killed hip-hop, I never said that. The DJ made me and made Bad Boy who it is...Being in this for a while, when I listen to the state of where it's at right now and I go from club to club....sometimes I can't tell which DJ is which...Every DJ [used to] have their own style, their own journey they would take you on. And I wanna get that back....Mix some opera with some African bongo drums to some jazz, gospel in there, some Indian music...I'm not attacking the DJ, I'm just trying, if anything, help inspire because I have so much respect for the DJ." Diddy recently took a shot at today's new and current wave of record spinners.

"DJs don't break records no more," he said in an interview. "DJs don't play album cuts. DJs play what is going to move the crowd. DJs, they don't expose you to the newness. That was the DJs' thing. ...It's so much great stuff out there, the responsibility has to come with the DJs. I'm about to call the DJs out. 'Cause they are the future, and they gotta step it up. I can't keep turning on the radio no matter where I'm at and can't tell who's who." (MTV News)

Diddy has been featured on various DJ Clue compilation albums and was slated to host an event for him earlier this week.

Sean Combs was supposed to co-host a birthday party for DJ Clue at club M2 on West 28th Street Monday night with Kobe Bryant after the historic Knicks/Lakers game in which Bryant scored 61 points. But nobody warned Combs that the New York Police Department had an undercover gun detail searching guests as they came into the club. (Fox News)
