Janet Jackson's Japanese Tour Canceled Due To "Economic Crisis"


Grammy-winning singer Janet Jackson has reportedly canceled her Japanese "Rock Witchu" tour next month because of the economy's financial crisis.

The decision was announced Monday (January 26) through one of the tour's concert promoters.

Japanese concert promoter Kyodo Yokohama said the singer cancelled five concerts due to take place in February. The 42-year-old Grammy Award winner had planned to perform in several major cities, including Nagoya and Osaka. (BBC)
Her tour faced economic issues and will likely be rescheduled.

Kyodo Yokohama said she was forced to scuttle concerts set for several major Japanese cities "due to the impact of the economic crisis." Jackson was expected to kick off the Asian dates on Feb. 14. The gigs will now be rescheduled for sometime later in the year, ostensibly to give the market time to bounce back, and will be announced in March. (E! Online)
Jackson's "Rock Witchu" tour last year was subject to numerous cancelations due to illness around October.
