Snoop Dogg Set To Kick-Off Super Bowl W/ Bud Bowl Performance

West Coast rap veteran Snoop Dogg has been tagged to perform at the upcoming Bud Bowl in Florida this week.

The event will be a pre-Super Bowl showcase around the Tampa Bay area.

This year, Bud Bowl sponsor Anheuser-Busch has teamed up with rapper Snoop Dogg for a pre-game concert. And anytime Snoop Dogg shows up, you know it's a party. The rapper and rock outfit 3 Doors Down perform for free at Channelside, but there is a trick. The tickets are free, but organizers are giving them away at local bars or through radio stations. The best part? You get to go to bars looking for free tickets. (Herald Tribune)

Bud Bowl will pay homage to fans with the free performances.

"Adult beer drinkers enjoy good times with friends and family with Bud Light, an American light lager, and Budweiser, the Great American Lager. This is especially the case in Florida, where consumers continue to call for our great beers," said John Miller, marketing director for Anheuser-Busch. "Bud Bowl is our way of thanking those loyal consumers for their ongoing support. These complimentary concerts featuring Snoop Dogg and 3 Doors Down will definitely be a highlight of the entertainment surrounding the big game." (Anheuser-Busch)

Snoop was also involved in last year's Bud Bowl in Arizona.

By the time Snoop Dogg and his crew took the stage at 11 p.m., the crowd was more than ready to celebrate his raunchy catalog and Super Bowl XLII. The gates and bars had been open for hours, and the music lovers, mostly in their 20s and 30s, were primed. During one rap about "chronic" (strong marijuana), Snoop told the audience to light up (a few fans obeyed) and to throw him some (a few others did that). That portion of the show was probably not endorsed by the NFL. (AZCentral)

Snoop's upcoming performance is set to begin Friday, January 30.
