Dwayne Wade Buys Christmas Home For Florida Family

Dwayne Wade made Christmas magic this year when he purchased a home for a Florida family, says the Associated Press.

According to the AP, Wade sprung into action when he heard about a woman, Dawn Smith, who lost her home in an accidental fire. He presented her and her family with the keys to a new home last Wednesday (December 24).

In addition to their new abode, the NBA star also gave them home furnishings, clothes, and gifts to make their Christmas extra special.

"That's what I try to teach my kids," said Wade, whose Wade's World Foundation hosted several charity events this holiday season. "It's not about what you're going to receive -- it's what you can give to others from what you've received."

Wade's World Foundation has reportedly pledged to help Smith with her mortgage payments until she is able to get her financial ducks in a row.

"A big-time relief," Smith said, overcome by emotion. "Thank you so much. Thank you so much. Oh, God, thank you so much."

"Hopefully, you'll like it," Wade replied.
