Diddy & Aretha Franklin Launch New Talent Show

Diddy and soul music icon Aretha Franklin have teamed up to look for R&B and hip hop talent via an "American Idol" style TV show.

Tentatively planned for a 2009 debut, the show will feature an unknown number of hopefuls showing their stuff to impress the two music movers.

Instead of the public, however, it will be Diddy and Franklin determining the contestant's fate.

"The country will not vote," Franklin said. "It will just be me and Diddy voting for who the next star will be."
