Chamillionaire Honored As Highest Selling Ringtone Rapper

In today’s music economy record sales are down and their has been considerable movement towards the digital medium as a way people get their music. MP3’s and ring tones are the most common forms of digital music and the RIAA created a new sales category yesterday to accommodate the huge ring tone sales for Houstonite Chamillionaire.

Before this acknowledgment Cham was already a platinum plus monster with his debut The Sound of Revenge, as well as being a. Grammy award winner for his hit ‘Ridin Dirty’. It’s that hit, which sold over 5 million ring tones, that garnered Chamillionaire the honor of being the first “Mastertone” artist in music history.

Not to be satisfied with past success though Cham has been hard at work on his third album titled Venom as well as adding to his Mixtape Messiah Series and branching out into the world of internet promotions and networking. He will drop the 5th installment of the Messiah tapes on his newly redeveloped Chamillionaire.com on November 23. Besides serving as a buffet for his new music, the site will also feature exclusive performance footage, video blogs, merchandise, music, news, and special giveaways. The website also showcases artists from Chamillitary Records, Chamillionaire’s new label that has secured distribution from Universal Republic.

Though he may be hard at work on it Cham says of yet there is no definite date for when Venom is dropping but tells us it is “coming soon.”

IMO that's not an honor. Maybe for him, but as a true hip hop fan this is not an honor

Thats treu. I think high sales is also not a good honor. The respect from people and the streets, and that they will remember you as a mc, thats a real honor. Cuz all these bullshit commercial albums sale, and I dont see that as an honor.

He makes a tight track that the general public responded to. He didn't make it to sell ringtones. Thats not a "Laffy Taffy" track. Hood niggas and Reginald's 12-year old son happen to like the same track on different levels.

Plus, why would you ever hate on someone who is nothing like "D4L" and Soulja Boy who happened to crossover and make 5 million people buy 1 ringtone?? Cham is a real lyricist and all y'all are haters!!!
