Eminem's New Project Still Under Construction

Hip-Hop superstar Eminem's long awaited upcoming album Relapse may possibly be pushed into 2009.

According to the New York Post, the Academy Award-winning artist has been working diligently on the forthcoming LP to the point that his December release date appears unlikely to happen.

"Eminem has been through a lot," an insider told Post. "He is being a perfectionist and is completely obsessive-compulsive about this album."

While the unnamed source believes the disc will drop in early 2009, there is still a possibility of it coming out before the holidays.

"There's a 50-50 chance it will be done the end of this year," the source added. "But most likely it'll be the first quarter of next year. It's great."

For now, there is no official release date for Relapse.

As previously reported by SOHH, Em premiered a freestyle and revealed details on his comeback disc during a release part for his book The Way I Am last month.

In support of the book, which details his personal life, the mega-star threw a special event at a secret location in New York City where he unveiled a freestyle titled "I'm Having A Relapse." Falling just below two minutes, the extracted verse reminds Em's core audience of his witty wordplay and promises a return as the chorus chants "Guess who's back?"

"How the hell did he manage to get more felony charges/he's already got life in jail, man/what the h*ell is his problem/well to be honest, the smell of these chronic leaves make me hella demonic..."[Listen Here]

The verse offers listeners a dark and playful mind set for Em showing that despite not releasing a solo effort since 2004's Encore, he is preparing to come back strong with his fifth solo project.

The Way I Am is currently available in all retail bookstores.

Of course shit aint dropping this year. First quarter of next year it should drop. But yeah, I'm glad he is taking his time, he is letting Dre do the beats, man, this album is gonna be dope as fuck. Cant wait for that shit, hip hop needs this. I guess Detox will never come out. I dont think Dre even cares anymore, if thats the case, fuck it, give Em a full album worth of the hottest beats he has, let Em rip them up, get some dope features, Dre, Fif, jay, TI, Akon, Cashis and shit, could be Ems best album ever, a true classic. If Dre aint gonna drop Detox, let some others get them beats.

The closest time for a single is 15'th December - 5'th January

y would em come out the same month as 50 n take away from 50s sales, that would just be bad business on interscopes part, clearly it would be smart to let 50 eat sales in decemember n early jan n let em drop at the end of jan or feb,

it would be even smarter if 50 n em dropped a single together to promote both albums at the same time, that would be a good concept

but they aint eminem... i think eminem could do that... he got a huge loyal ass fan base... i bet if he dropped a big single at the beginnin of december and said that the albums comin out on christmas or the day before (or somethin like that) that surprise factor would deff translate into sales... a month is deff enough time to get the single and word out there... plus like i said, people would be like oh shit, em is droppin in a few weeks, imma have to cop that... it wont give em time to forget about it, nah meen!? He propably got it done, but had to tell something to the people why it aint in the stores in dec. Cuz 50 is then also and interscope looking only on the commercial point. So it will be dropped in jan./feb. And when Detox will be coming out, at least it will take a long time.
