Raekwon Promises Cuban Linx 2 In March

prospect of a follow up to his 1995 classic, Only Built for Cuban Linx, still generates a buzz in most Hip Hop circles. That anticipation was raised when Rae signed with Aftermath Entertainment in 2006, but the union has still failed to produce any new material from "The Chef."
Last week, Raekwon told HipHopOfficial.com that despite the well-documented delays of his labelmates, he does still intend to release Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2.
"Only Built 4 Cuban Linx 2 is coming out in March of '09," Raekwon said. "I'm taking my time, and I'm doing this for the people, not for me."
Busta Rhymes was originally slated as an unofficial executive producer of the album. But after leaving Aftermath for Universal/Motown [click to read], it has not been announced who will fill his vacated role. Despite making headlines with his outspoken criticism of Rza's production [click to read] on the last Wu-Tang Clan album, 8 Diagrams, Rae says his Wu-Tang brethren will definitely be involved in his upcoming effort.
"It's gonna be kinda ill coming back in the game and making people recognize what I do," Raekwon said. "I would never front on my crew with something we collectively made together. So, we definitely had to go and touch that up again."

the entire Wu Tang is overaged now, used to be one of the best, now they just try to keep up
industry changed too much for a group like that to survive, too lyrical and not enough pop
what they rely on now is features and concerts where everyone goes like "hey look here's Rae again, havent heard him in a while"

fuck that man, dude has been promising this joint forever, and mark my words, if he ever do drop it it wont be better then any of Ghost recent lp's, dude has no excuse for taking this long.

Cant wait 4 this album 2 drop. Its gonna be sick. And I hope becuz hes with aftermath that dre's a lil bit involved in the album. But all these rappers making promesis, just drop all of these goddam albums. Fuck the sales, sales will be low no mather what. Just earn with merchandising or touring.
