Janet Jackson To Resume Tour After Suffering 'Migraine-Associated Vertigo'After canceling nine shows, singer will return to the stage in D.C.

You might want to set up a Google alert for your phone just in case, but Janet Jackson's people say this time it's for real. After several attempts to get back on the road while recovering from a previously undisclosed illness, Ms. Jackson is finally slated to restart her Rock Witchu Tour Wednesday night (October 15) in Washington, D.C., after being out of commission since September 29.

According to E! Online, Jackson's manager said the singer will play the capitol's Verizon Center, marking her first gig since canceling nine shows to deal with an illness they're finally willing to disclose.

"After a thorough medical evaluation, it has been confirmed that Janet's symptoms are being caused by a rare form of migraine called vestibular migraine, or migraine-associated vertigo, for which she is currently receiving treatment," said a statement released by Jackson's camp, according to E!.

Jackson, 42, first fell ill during sound check for a September 29 show in Montreal and ended up postponing shows in Montreal; Philadelphia; Boston; Greensboro, North Carolina; Atlanta; Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Uncasville, Connecticut; Verona, New York; and New York City. All of those shows will be rescheduled, E! reports. She was originally expected to reboot the tour on Saturday in Connecticut, but canceled that show and one slated for Monday in Verona on "doctor's orders."

"Janet wanted very much to resume her tour so as not to disappoint her fans, but she continued to suffer from vertigo and could not perform," her manager, Kenneth Crear, said. "She's a world-class entertainer and needs to be at the top of her game to give her fans the show they expect. She's feeling much better and is ready to hit the road again to finish the tour."
