Jay-Z Puts DJ AM Back Behind The Decks

Less than one month after surviving a deadly plane crash, DJ AM will return to the turntables on Wednesday, October 15, to help Jay-Z celebrate the rebirth of the Hollywood Palladium.

On September 19th DJ AM and ex-Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker survived a fiery Learjet crash that claimed four lives. AM, who escaped with second and third degree burns on his left arm and face is excited to be making his first public appearance with the Brooklyn powerhouse.

"He's the greatest rapper in the world," the DJ told People magazine. "This is the biggest thing that's happened in my career."

Tomorrow night's show is a celebration of the rebirth of LA's legendary music venue, The Palladium, which opened 68 years ago with a performance by Frank Sinatra.

Last year, Live Nation the concert promotion company with whom Jay inked a reported $150 million deal, stepped in and signed a long-term lease to operate, manage and book the venue.

After about $20 million in renovations Live Nation is now ready to relaunch the performance space with a sold out show, which will feature Jay-Z, a 12-piece band and the recovered DJ AM.

This show will kick off a series of Jay-Z performances across the United States. Over the next two weeks Jay will perform in Houston, Philadelphia, Charlottesville, VA and East Rutherford, NJ.
