Hurricane Chris Bonds W/ Lil’ Wayne, Brushes Off Ice-T Diss “I Don’t Be Trippin' On No Haters”

Hurricane Chris is getting ready to kick off his sophomore album with a Bobby Valentino laced lead single. In this SOHH exclusive Mr. Ay Bay Bay talks about his tight relationship with fellow Louisianan Lil’ Wayne and explains why he never responded to Ice-T’s diss.

Hurricane Chris is hard at work in the studio prepping his sophomore release, which is untitled as of yet. Though the album won’t hit shelves until the first quarter of 2009, Hurricane has already selected his first single, “Touch Bases” which features R&B crooner Bobby Valentino.

“It’s like on some grown laid-back playa type stuff,” Chris explained. “Like telling your girl that you’ve been all over world but you ready to touch bases with her and get your mind where it’s supposed to be.”

“He came in the studio and did it like a pro,” Hurricane said of Bobby V. “It just came out like some crazy, crazy, crazy, crazy category five type hurricane.”

Valentino isn’t the only feature that Hurricane Chris will have on his new album. He’s planning to tap Nicole Wray to sing a few hooks and he’s already been in the studio with Lil’ Wayne. “That’s the homie. That’s family. It’s all love. It’s real with us,” said Chris. “I’ma have [Wayne] on my album.”

In addition, the two Louisiana natives are also plotting a side project. “Me and him have some stuff that we just gon’ hit you in ya face with,” Hurricane explained. “I went over there with him and hopped on some stuff with him he come to my land and hopped on stuff with me. We Louisianimials, we don’t die we multiply.”

This spring when rap legend Ice’T infamously told Souja Boy to “eat a dick” he also advised Hurricane Chris to take the beads out of his hair. Chris never publicly responded to the diss.

“I just don’t even be trippin on no haters or nothing like that. I’m a grown man, holla at me if you wanna holla at me. If not the I ain’t really hearing what your saying,” he said.

“I be in Louisiana. We got real problems,” Hurricane explained. “I don’t really get on Youtube and be playing around on there. I don’t have a Youtube account. It takes a long time for the childish things to even get to me because we got to many real serious problems.”

Hurricane Chris’ sophomore album will be released on Polo Grounds/J Records in early 2009.

he can spit, he just released the wrong singles, shoulda came with do somethin or new fashion, plus he dropped when soulja boy was the hot song and since they was on the same label they were gettin compared and they are far from alike
