Big Boi Battles Ben Bernanke In Blender Mag Freestyle
September 26th, 2008 | Author: ------

Just recently, Andre 3000 [click to read] spoke to Rolling Stone about his new solo album coming out later this year or early next [click to read]. However, "Three Stacks" isn’t the only one prepping for a highly anticipated album release.

Andre 3000’s partner in crime and other half of OutKast, Big Boi [click to read] is also looking to drop a solo album this year. After announcing in ’07 that he would be releasing the work, titled Sir Luscious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty, this year [click to read], fans have been anxiously waiting. Unlike 2003’s Speakerboxxx/The Love Below, the two solo albums will not be packaged together.

Although Andre and Big Boi have chosen to make OutKast a second priority in order to focus on their solo endeavors, fans can be sure that the duo will be working together again in due time. When asked by Blender [click to read] about the future of OutKast, Big Boi assured, “I’m cranking out some things for OutKast so when Dre’s ready to go with that, we’ll have ideas. I’m putting out my solo record. He’ll put out his, and then we’ll put out another OutKast record.”

Big Boi also talked about the current economic recession, saying that the crisis has inspired him to speak his mind. Challenged by Blender to freestyle about the present social conditions, he spit this:

"I guess Ben Bernanke, he’s been kind of slacking
'Cause people are not getting gas right now and they’re acting
Kind of crazy
They go to the pumps and the cashiers are lazy
They can’t get gas and then they say maybe …
Maybe I’ll might just go up and stick up a gas truck
Put something in his mouth and then make him get his ass up
Out the truck
Then I drop off loads of gas to every neighborhood
My name is the B.I.G., the B.O.I. I do all good
And sometimes I do all great
Cuz it’s never too late
You got to speak out and you gotta let you voice be heard
If not, you won’t be able to put gas in your Thunderbird, ya hear?"

Big Boi’s also sheds some political knowledge in his new single and video with Mary J Blige “Something’s Gotta Give.”
