LL Cool J Removes 50 Cent From New Album
Published: Tuesday - September 9, 2008

Although LL wasn't shy about having a long list of collaborators including The Dream, Fat Joe, and Richie Sambora on his latest effort, "Exit 13," the veteran rapper said that he got cold feet when it came to the track featuring 50 Cent.

"I'm not releasing the album he and I were working on," LL said when acked about the song. "I took a few songs for 'Exit 13' and scrapped the rest."

When asked why he decided to put the breaks on the song, LL said that he was concerned about the way his fans would respond.

"That's due to the fact that I don't think people want to hear me rhyming like 50," L explained.

The 50 track, "Feel My Heart Beat," was rumored to be the album's first single until the current single, "Baby" featuring The Dream, invaded radio airwaves.

Originally titled "Todd Smith Pt. 2: Back to Cool," "Exit 13" is record store shelves today via Def Jam.

Wait so we all no the album they did he used some songs and made more songs, but is this saying he took that one song with Fif off the album? If thats the case than LL is a bitch for real, ok, I get you dont want to make it seem like you are trying to be like Fif, so doing the whole album ok, but if he took that one song off, in which Fif only does the hook, thats some bitch shit. I dont think so, LL is def one of the best to do it, he has lasted so long, but what kept him around is those RB chick type songs, thats the shit that made him sell. Not the hard shit. Correction LL was one of the best to do it (and the chick or club songs are what makes EVERY RAPPER SELL!!!!).... but just like Ice Cube and Will Smith.... he decide to focus on acting instead of Hip-Hop so what you end up with is great music at the beginning and then they all fell off hard!

Honestly before exit 13 when was the last time LL was relevent in the Hip Hop world..... its been over a decade!!!

Doin it was the last song I remember seeing all over TV.... and the last album I listened to was Mama said knock you out..... I'll still throw that in or Radio or Bigger & Deffer but thats about it.

Im not hating... Im really interested in his new album (since it sounds like hes been on the grind)

but just b/c LL is a pioneer and deserves respect for helping start the game (especially the commercial push) does not mean he deserves to be credited as "one of the best to do it".... I dont think he can even be mentioned in the same breahe as Rakim, Dr. Dre, Pac, Nas, Jay-Z ..... longevity does not matter much if the quality isnt there.

At least somebody gets it. When 50 was on top, LL was telling everybody that would listen than 50 was executive producing his album and he and 50 were collaborating heavy for it.

Now that 50 is on the decline and after the disappointing sales of "Curtis" and "T.O.S.", LL is feeling like he can do better without him. I understand that there are still ALOT of Unit Stans out there, but it is starting to seem like there are just as many 50 haters. Alot of people simply don't care about him at all anymore. LL didn't last 25 years in the game without being smart enough to notice the trend. When fif was on top, LL jumped on board. Now that 50 is falling, LL is jumping ship. 50 is not in the position to help anybody right now. He needs to resussitate his own career first.

I definately agree, though, that he should release the tracks they did together as a mixtape or something. I'd like to hear them.
