Mike Jones Speaks On Ozone Award Fight With Trae; ‘It Was A Publicity Stunt And He's A Coward’

Houston rappers Mike Jones and Trae The Truth got into a tussle at the Ozone Awards which was held in their hometown yesterday (August 11).

The incident took place backstage while the rappers were having a conversation. Breaking reports on the altercation claimed that Trae threw the first punch.

Jones would call Houston's 102 Jams after leaving the award show Monday and confirmed that Trae initiated the altercation. Jones would call Trae’s actions a publicity stunt and labeled him a coward.

“It was a publicity stunt, everybody seen it,” explained Jones. “It was the perfect time to do this and they don't have to pay for advertising and promotion and they need that.”

“[Trae] came and shook my hand and I guess he was mad cause I called myself 'The President’....cause I'm the president of H-Town, I run this city,” Jones continued. “After we shook our hands and had out words, I went my way and the next thing you know he snuck up behind me and hit me on my side. And then someone else jumped in and tried to hit me in my nose. But I still got up there on the Ozone Awards and performed.”

Jones would imply that Trae was jealous of his success and fame.

“I put swangers Your browser does not support inline frames or is currently configured not to display inline frames. on a Bentley and that’s something everybody cant do,” Jones said. “So everybody mad at me cause I said I’m the president and I’m doing stuff like this. Don’t get mad, get money.”

When asked how he plans to handle the incident, Jones replied: “I 'm not giving anybody no fame or no publicity. It's gonna get handled in the streets. I came to the Ozone Awards for my song "Cutty Buddy" and he came from behind my back like a coward. It's sad we have to talk about this, its sad people plan this so yall can talk about it”

Jones would end the interview with a special message for Trae, “When you sell 2 million your first time out, when you roll Bentley's on swangers, then you call yourself ‘The President’. Then you can talk. Get you resume up, get your stats up before you come holla at me. Stop hating on me.”

Despite the incident, the Ozone Awards continued without a hitch. T-Pain and Young Jeezy were among various artists, who took home awards,

Trae has yet to publicly speak on the incident.

Looks like it pretty much was a bitchmove, Trae didn't even deny snuffing him from behind... he just did it because he thought Jones was acting big-headed by calling himself 'The President'.

That shit was a bitchmove... Mike Jones was actually one of the first Houston acts to go mainstream .. regardless of how wack you think he is.
