As the buzz for Bishop Lamont’s newest single “Grow Up” spreads to newer outlets, so does Lamont. In a recent interview on the Wendy Williams Experience radio show, Lamont talked about Detox as well as Eve’s quiet fallout with Aftermath and Dr. Dre.
Being somewhat of a spokesman for Dre’s Detox album, Lamont provided a current yet quick report on the project that has put Dre in a mental stalemate. “It’s not done, we about 50% in. You gotta realize with dude, [it’s been] 22 years, and dude is like ‘it’s gotta be the best it can be.’ He’s under pressure, the worst pressure. The worst scrutiny is coming from his own mind, his own ears.”
Switching the subject to former Aftermath signee Eve, Bishop gave his reasoning as to why her music career wasn’t in the right place so to speak. “Eve started doing the TV show, Eve was doing the Fetish thing, and she was getting money a lot of other ways. So the same incentive to try and work on records wasn’t there. And Dre wants you to be all in, but she had other ties. So her energy wasn’t the same coming in because when you work with Dre you gotta do 150%.”
After stating he’s been in a metaphoric “concentration camp” working with Dre on both albums, Lamont jokingly confessed he has had very little time for any outside distractions because he’s “always in the cave with 'Dre-dolf Hitler.'”
The Reformation is looking at a November release date.

G unit had like 500 spins and they bricked, nobody even knew they were coming...Bishop aint got a single loyal fan. Airplay=sales, as u can see, there is no fanbase.

G Unit bricked and they had 500 spins, nobody knew they were coming. G Unit sold 102k because Interscope only shipped 140k copies the first week, thats why. Ed Lover and David Banner were talking about how many albums rappers ship, that people think everyone ships the same, they talked about how Interscope only shipped 140k copies of TOS. So how they supposed to sell 200k copies the first week if they only shipped 140K? Fucking kid man, cant keep G Unit out his mouth. And if Detox comes out before Bishop, when the millions of people hear Bishop, then come with a hot single, that will give him his fanbase, I aint saying he will sell no millions, but he could possibly go gold.

I'm begining to think Detox aint ever coming out, first they say its just about done, its coming in Nov Dec, now its only 50 percent done? That means Spring or Summer 09. So if thats the case, maybe Fif will drop BISD at the end of the year, since Detox dont look to be dropping the 4th quarter at all. Fucking bullshit man. Dre's dumb ass by talking about this album for 8 years and shit, keep pushing it back, thats the reason why people are gonna be so critical of this album, if he just dropped in years ago it would be fine, but keep saying its coming year after year and it dont come out, now people are gonna be pissed if it aint a classic album, if the album doesnt have the best production of all time people gonna be pissed, all cause he keeps pushing it back.

For a minute now it seems like anything you hear about Detox it's coming from Bishop Lamont....But recently I did read somewhere Dr. Dre said he trying for November OR December...Then it'll be first quarter of 2009 or maybe 2012...LOL

this Shady/Aftermath label shit is a joke! Fuck Dre and fuck EM! They're becoming irrelevant in rap. u cannot tell me that it takes 10 years to put out a decent album. They deserve to go broke and nobody should sign up with their labels. Id like to know how many artists signed with shady/aftermath and actually put out an album. I thought it was cool when Em and Dre were signing all these artists...then they never come out with an album! What a joke!
