GZA Disses 50 Cent In New 'Paper Plate' Track, Implies G-Unit's Music Is 'Disposable'

Wu-Tang Clan's Genius revives last year's beef with first single off Pro Tools.

The GZA is one less person on 50 Cent's Christmas card list this year. Who are we fooling? Wu-Tang Clan's GZA and 50 were never friends. They don't even know each other, but they haven't seen eye to eye since the Genius started dissing the G-Unit last year during a concert run. 50 responded by calling the Wu-Tang Clan co-founder "irrelevant."

It took awhile, but GZA is trying to start another round of back-and-forth. He released the G-Unit dis record "Paper Plate" on Friday. It's the first release from GZA's fifth solo LP, Pro Tools.

"Whipped with Cuban Linx," GZA threatens in his 100-plus-bar tirade, produced by RZA. "Cut by Liquid Swords/ Crushed by Ironman till we choke your vocal chords."

"You ever seen someone who roll with Mayweather/ Rhyme like Ricky Hatton?" asks GZA, who mocks Fif's crew with the name "Flea Unit." "Smash whatever you throw, a thousand is what I'm batting/ Got a few hooks but no jabs .../ Enough to make you vogue on that cover of GQ/ Only thing missing is the sheer blouse, homie/ You see-through."

The title "Paper Plate," according to GZA's camp, implies that 50's art is "disposable."

Other producers on Pro Tools, slated for release on August 19, include Bronze Nazareth, Allah Mathematics, True Master, Arabian Knight, Jay Waxx and Black Milk. GZA's son, Justice, and Wu-Tangers RZA and Masta Killa are featured on the album.

If I was GZA, I wouldn't be even think about 50 Cent right now. I'll be focused on making some more classic Wu shit. One point that he has made that I agree with: G-Unit music is disposable.

I was expecting this diss song to be alot harder, especially after GZA was saying he gonna crush 50, but it was weak as piss. Wu Tang been around a long time, but I dont know how you can say they accomplished much, much more, there's no way they could fill the same size venues that G Unit do in the US let alone around the world, G Unit do have alot more fans then Wu Tang, plus they have sold more records, & they aint even been around half the time Wu Tang has, so how can you say that. I'm also a fan of both groups, and I do know hip hop, and it's about getting your message across and being heard, so who do u think got their message across to more ppl over the world, G Unit or Wu Tang, no matter what the message is, like it or not, it's the truth.

Wutangs first albums went platinum..and they sold their albums to hardcore, true hiphop fans. They were respected highly amongst the respected...g-unit sold a lil more (only 50...if you dont count 50's GRODT sales...wutang has outsold g-unit by FAR)...
back to my point...g-units main sales went to groupie fans and young kids..i admit their first albums were sick and were respected...but not anymore, those days are over

Oh now it makes sense, I was wondering and so were alot of other people on why didnt he drop this when shit first went down, now its clear, he has an album dropping Aug 19, and this is the first track off his album, so he drops a diss record against Fif, hoping Fif replies and gives him publicity for his album. When Fif does it, they say its a stunt, but GZA does it, others do it, they dont say shit. Wonder why. Of course its a stunt, you think anyone is gonna buy that GZA album? Even with this shit nobody will care, and if he didnt diss Fif, nobody would even no he had an album coming out, so its a smart move, but this song is wack, he lost alot of respect I think, people kept saying GZA is so dope, this shit is wack, he would have been better off not dropping this shit, its not like Fif or anyone is even thinking about dude right now.

Brooklyn, I have also Dirty Weaponry, all GZAs albums, Decks shit, Killas Beez shit and Gravediggaz CDs.... a lot of this hardcore classic albums and I know it all, but I feel like it's dead now.
