Wendy Williams Prepares To Invade The Small Screen

Always controversial New York radio host Wendy Williams will be heading to daytime television as she kicks off her new live one-hour “The Wendy Williams Show” tomorrow on Fox.

According to The New York Times, the shock jock will be making a six-week run of the program, which is going to be syndicated in New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, and Detroit.

Comparing the time difference of her TV and radio show on WBLS, Wendy promised fans will expect the usual set-up.

“Obviously one hour on TV isn’t as much time as five hours on the radio,” she told the Times. “But the common thread is Wendy. Like, all I am on the radio show is Wendy, and all they want me to be on this TV show is Wendy.”

Supporting the radio diva, show executive producer Rob Dauber added that all daytime hosts are distinguished by their signature remarks and opinions.

“All of the best TV talk show hosts have been based around personalities,” he stated. “From Mike Douglas, to Ellen, Rosie, Oprah, even Dr. Phil — those shows came about as personalities who the show was built around, as opposed to a producer sayng: ‘I want to do a show that’s sort of like a new Regis and Kelly. Who can we get to host it?’”

On the program, Williams is expected to feed off of her studio audience, while offering advice and conducting celebrity interviews.

Widely known for starting rumors and gossip, Williams has been the subject of many high profile rappers’ rhymes including Jay-Z, Method Man, and even the late Tupac Shakur, who have all attacked her physical appearance.

“My bark is worse than my bite,” she said. “I feel as though I’m nice, and that I’m down to earth, and — people like me get taken advantage of. So by being tall and outgoing, people mistake that for being overpowering, overbearing, loud and being a bully. No, no I’m a flower.”

If “The Wendy Williams Show” performs well it will likely return for a full season next year.

The program is scheduled to air tomorrow at 10 a.m. EST on FOX.

haha she do be puttin peoples personal business out there, ill never forget when she told the world method man wife had cancer, thats was waaay fucked up cuz her own family didnt even kno yet, she a cold one but i dont see the show goin anywhere, she aint no damn tyra lol
