Nasir Jones has been playing it relatively low key since the announcement of ****** months ago. Since then, rumors have popped up on various blogs and websites about the whereabouts of his latest album. Although there is no release date, “Be A ****** Too” [click to listen] recently hit the net and the hype building toward the album has officially begun. In the meanwhile, Nas spoke to King in a recent interview about a plethora of topics.
First, Nas clears up rumors that Def Jam was going to drop him because of the title of his album. “Somebody told me that (one) about me getting dropped,” he says. “That sounds funny, though. I guess that just stays a rumor. But I enjoy those rumors too, because that means there’s fear." Nas also said in the interview that he had no problem with interracial relationships but was called to task because of how he dissed Taye Diggs, Cuba Gooding Jr and Tiger Woods - who all have white wives - on “These Are Our Heroes.” Nas stated that it had nothing to do with their racial preference but their character. “Tiger Woods standing up for this white lady who said something about him being lynched is a coon move to me,” Nas explains. "God bless the brother. I like to see him doing his thing, but that’s a flaw in his character. That’s an issue I would have with Tiger Woods; not who he is married to.” Nas goes on to say that Richard Pryor is his heroes. “He was married seven times,” he continues. “My favorite wife of his is Debra, one of the white girls.” He also reveals a bit of interesting info about Biggie asking him to team up with him against Tupac during the Pac/Biggie rift. “He said, ‘Let’s get together.’ He said that everyone was a little nervous about it, but he was calling me about getting busy,” God’s Son reveals. But he states the reason it never happened was because of their busy schedules. He also discusses how Biggie and Nas took shots at each other on record. “On a song I did on my second album, Tupac thought it was about him, but it was really towards Biggie,” he says of “The Message” off of It Was Written. “From the first lines all the way to, 'One life, one love, there can only be one king.' That was specifically going in that direction. The whole fucking song, really. Tupac was not even on my radar for going at him.” He also says that while nobody really knew that “The Message” was about Biggie, the New York rapper knew and responded on “Kick In The Door” with “Your reign on the top was short like leprechauns.” Keep it locked to DX for more on Nas and the upcoming ****** album. WOW! So now Nas is the authority on how someone should respond to theri own controversy. Tiger Woods can say what the fuck he wants to say about his own controversy. Did he follow 50's advice about Kelis? NO. He married her. This Nigga isn't smart he just thinks he is. What about the move he made to sign with Jay-Z. Was that a bitch move? Nigga stay in your own backyard!

He should have waited and let the controversy of the song build up a little more before he spoke.

Do y'all even read, or do you see who it's about, skim over it and respond? Nas didn't speak on anyones "white wives" as a problem. He was responding to the interviewer asking him if "These Are Our Heroes" was about that and he clearly said "NO!"
Dude even went as far as to say that one of his heroes' (Richard Pryor) was married 7 times, and out of the seven, the one he liked best was Debra, who WAS WHITE!!! I do think Nas talks without thinking sometimes, but if you're gonna complain, at least read first so you can bash him for something he really said, rather than what you thought he said. I definately agree that after he signed with Jay, he had no right to criticize Tiger for how he responded to the lady who said he should be lynched, but I also agree that Tiger, Taye, Cuba and the other dudes he called out in the song come across as "Coons" from time to time. Plus, lets not forget, the interviewer asked him about the song, which came out before he signed with Def Jam anyway. You can love Nas, or hate him... I could care less. It just pisses me off that half of the responses to the post are saying he's talking about peoples "white wives" when he's actually doing the opposite. He's saying that none of his comments had anything to do with who the people he mention were married to. R E A D F I R S T, T H E N R E P L Y... I D I O T S.

/\/\/\ Back In '96, New York Hip Hop Was At It's Peak. While B.I.G. Was Moving The Most Units And Getting The Most Money (In New York Anyway), Nas Was Always Respected As The Best Rapper. This Lead To Jealousy Between The Two Because Nas Wanted The Sales And Crossover Success That B.I.G. Had, And B.I.G. Wanted The Respect For His Lyrics That Nas Received (It's Funny, But Most People Didn't Really Realize How Lyrical B.I.G. Was Until The Second Album, And Nas Didn't Sell Platinum Until His Second Album)
Anyway, When B.I.G. Came Out And Blew Up, Alot Of Other New York Rappers Caught Feelings. Like Nas, Alotta Dudes Had Hot Albums Out, But Were Not seeing The Commercial Success That B.I.G. Did. This Lead Artists Like Boot Camp, Raekwon And Ghostface To Start Throwing Jabs At B.I.G. And Mocking The "Cristal And Coogi Sweater" Lifestyle That He And Puffy Glorified. Then, Ghostface Threw A Subliminal Jab At B.I.G. On The Cuban Linx Album. On The Skit "Shark N*ggas", Ghost And Rae Talk About How They Are So Upset With All The Biters In The Industry. Then Ghost, While Explaining How Unoriginal Other Artists Were, Screams The Now Infamous Line "N*ggas, N*ggas Bit Off Of Nas Sh*t!!!" He Went Further To Imply That B.I.G. Had Copied Nas' Illmatic Cover Idea By Using A Baby Picture For His Cover Of Ready To Die. Nas Said In An Interview That He Agreed That B.I.G. Copied His style, And Took Offense To B.I.G. Claiming To Be The King Of New York. This Is What Lead To The Infamous First Verse From "The Message." (...There's One Life, One Love And There Can Only Be One King") Nas Went Double Platinum With That Second Album, And Was Officially On Top Of New York. His Third Album, However, Did Not Come Out Until 1999. Throughout 97, B.I.G. And Badboy Were All Over Everything, And Once "Hypnotize," The First Single Off Of Life After Death Dropped, B.I.G. Was Right Back On Top. That's When He Made Kick In The Door, As A Kind Of Delayed Response To Nas' "The Message." (Your Reign On The Top Was Short Like Leprechaauns, As I Crush So-Called Willy's, Thugs And Rapper Dons) Unfortunately, We Never Got To See Where It Would Have Gone Between Nas And B.I.G., Since B.I.G. Was Murdered Before Life After Death Dropped. I Personally Believe That Jay-Z Never Really Liked Nas As An Extension Of What started With B.I.G., But I've Never Actually Heard It Said Directly By Any Of The Involved Parties. I Know That Was A Long Read, But I Find That Whole Story Really Interesting And Jumped At The Opportunity To Answer The Question.
